I think a lot of the railway lines in Glasgow were done from landsat satellite images, which aren't very good.

yeah I had to move railway lines about 10m in Coatbridge and add one railway line which even the os does not show, so OSM shows that railway line and does show the railway to Larkhall which is not on any other maps yet.
