145554986 | over 1 year ago | thanks! don’t usually map on my phone, must have messed something up 😅
|
145451497 | over 1 year ago | also the operator should be the National Park Service not Parks 😀 I fixed a couple of these
|
145451497 | over 1 year ago | Woods Creek should probably be Woods Creek Trail?
|
99338770 | over 1 year ago | it’s been a while, I think I was maybe matching the southern terminus tags when I was fixing the giant mess of PCT relations. feel free to remove it (and on the southern terminus, if it is also tagged similarly) |
144482253 | over 1 year ago | I updated the tags - the name should only contain the name. I moved the sourcing circumstances to the notes tag and added a wikidata tag. |
144117523 | almost 2 years ago | if these still show up on satellite imagery (didn’t check myself) it is often better to add a lifecycle tag like destroyed: to prevent these from showing up again. this has happened a few times in the vicinity and up Lyell Canyon

142581129 | almost 2 years ago | it is not clear in either the USGS maps nor GNIS which way it goes, so I've truncated it around where the text ends on the 1994 quad. feel free to fix it if you have better data. |
142156652 | almost 2 years ago | I added back one small section, otherwise looks good to me osm.org/way/1213627343

141846128 | almost 2 years ago | ah, good to know. thanks! |
141876877 | almost 2 years ago | definitely |
141876877 | almost 2 years ago | I think they use the usgs 3dep data, the coverage around Whitney looks like the old pre-lidar (satellite based) stuff to me |
141876877 | almost 2 years ago | are these in 3dep yet? been waiting for more coverage south of Yosemite
|
141846128 | almost 2 years ago | did Canyon Express move? the prior way followed what I see in Bing as well as recent Strava data |
141574820 | almost 2 years ago | should the wiki tags be moved as well?

140914204 | almost 2 years ago | unless the pass is actually named Unnamed Pass the standard is to remove the name tag entirely. it will still render properly in Caltopo and OSM

140390872 | almost 2 years ago | looks like these didn't get the GNISID value retained in gnis:feature_id, for example osm.org/node/4065344346 is
|
139757869 | about 2 years ago | please use the alt_name tag instead of deleting the old name. Steeves Pass is the name in Ropers book. I don’t care which is used as the primary name, just that both names are retained. |
139446248 | about 2 years ago | "natural=XC Pass" isn't a commonly used tag, for cross country passes use "natural=saddle". if the pass carries a highway, like a hiking trail, then it can also be tagged with "mountain_pass=yes". the location also appeared to be slightly off. I've fixed both of these issues in osm.org/changeset/139448208 thanks for the contribution! |
138733489 | about 2 years ago | no need to name these pois unless they have a name, can you remove the name?
