This is our last day in kaart internship time really flies so fast it feels just like yesterday when we started but this is our last day but before I say goodbye in this internship I would to say thank you, I am very grateful in this opportunity cause I didn’t expect that I would able to catch up.

Participating in this internship really benefit me cause while we’re learning new techniques in mapping we’re also helping our community or even the world, so its a win and win situation. We even improve our knowledge when it comes to mapping while enhancing our logic and common sense our mindset becomes more accurate when it comes to mapping.

If ever there’s a chance for another internship I’m still looking forward to it and I am humbly voluntary for the next events may happen.

My first-week at kaart internship summer of maps, I was so excited I didn’t expect that I will able to catch up cause a lot of activities I need to do before I can join the internship so when I enabled to join even though I’m late they still gave me a chance and when I hear that news I was shock and so happy at the same time.

The day I started there a lot of instructions and tasks that you must carry out It’s may not going to be easy but when you carry out that tasks it was so satisfying and by slowly finishing every task that we’ve been met we started enjoying it.

In this week I learned a lot of new things like shortcut keys and some new techniques so we can finish our tasks faster and easier. I’m so excited and I can’t wait to discover new things and learn from them.

My favorite part of OSM is categorizing the buildings and roads. I am getting much more efficient, and I am even exploring areas further away from my home location. Unfortunately, the one part of my process that has let me down is my android phone device. I am surprised by this, but I think it shows focus has moved away in this time of the ubiquitous android phone.

When I am on the ground checking road names and intersections, it is hugely helpful to check my screen for OSM data. It has replaced all the pen and paper requirements. But the one thing that I cannot see is whether the no tag is present. The lack of this information has had me checking streets where I had already checked previously.

And I fairly often map address nodes on the edge of building ways, since there are often multiple addresses associated with one building, and the only way to map them when doing a ground survey is by mapping the addresses seen on the entrances.
