Reading the above, I believe adding some exposure settings might be a good idea, see https://github.com/mapillary/mapillary_issues/issues/164 - hopefully coming soon!

Thanks for the feedback - I’m the author of the Mapillary iD plugin. Feel free to clone the code and improve the handling - a default layer-on was not deemed suitable a few months ago when this code got in.

Integration into JOSM would be highly appreciated!

Btw, would be cool to integrate Mapillary into the Strave app so all the stats etc are augmented with the view. Thanks for sharing!
