Westcountry mapping on holiday

Had a few days with my family in the westcountry and managed to put a significant dent in the mapping of Thurlestone on a bike borrowed from the hotel. It's amazing what you can achieve in a couple of hours in a small village.

Also tracked a few footpaths and other stuff in the area. Quite a delicate balance between recording as much detail as possible (on scraps of paper, I felt a bit like Detective Frost) and not interrupting the family holiday - I think I got away with it...

My first serious attempt using the GPS to fill in some of the blanks. Could not find my way through one of the early paths, but all the rest were well signposted. Very hot out there today.

Courtesy of my newly acquired Garmin Edge 705, I'm now able to make useful additions to the map (rather than just the local updates I was able to do before). Great fun - this could be seriously time consuming...
