Well it's about the routing software ... some 'very clever' people just do what their GPS says ....

The first time I used a GPS (the purpose was to set ip up for a collegue) I was standing on the roof of a building in Brussels, after it found the satellites , I asked it to show me the way to the south train station ... It just said "go straight forward for 1km .... :)
Just do not trust the lady :)

I already did some changes in Potlach that was already rendered in Mapnik when I leaved Potlach !

Well there is a node where there is a break in an almost straight line ...

But I think I confused myself with the mapsurfer hack that replacs streetmap in GM with OSM , it seems it now also replaces the data on top of the aerial pictures seamlessly ...it tricked myself ...

I'm feeling Goofy now :)

Well, data in OSM is based on French cadastre ... Google might have the same source ... but both seems to have the very same nodes ... seems odd ...

Well from what I understand , the buidings were build directly inside the caves, the caves did not build around the houses ....
You can also add a maxheight tag for routing purposes but it does not qualify as a tunnel in my mind.

To search GPX's for a specifig tag , just edit the url in the adress bar !!

It might just be a humidity problem .... so putting your GPS in a plastic bag ...

If you mind about privacy : start and stop the GPS away from your home, or edit the traces to remove start and end ....
Besides privacy, it would also de-clutter the area around your home.

Just deleted the common node, then cut the part of the railway that is on a bridge (from one way railway to three parts railway), add the bridge tag to that part ... done

You can 'search' based on tags .... : click on one tag in the list on the left, thn replace the tag in the url and see if it returns something

Coordinates are not very human friendly ...
When I use GMaps , I type the name of a city, place, street ...
But you can always alter the url with you coordinates (decimalize them first , then click on permalink and bookmark ...

For large rivers , there is a riverbank tag, used with a normal river tag associated with a name tag
