Rendering non-default language in OSM-Carto standard map | Wonderful to see maps in Tamil! Even the city and local government don’t have maps in the local languages, and they would be really excited to see this. |

Maps Update: April 17 → May 13 | Thank you for the data bulletin! |
|
When OpenStreetMap met Mapbox-GL : 🍚IDLY-GL | This is so cool, Kushan! This makes it so much easier to browse the OSM data compared to using the default ‘data’ mode in the website or any editor. The OSM project has always maintained that this is a data project and not a visual map project. Idly actually realizes this for the first time, making it easy for anyone to touch and feel what OSM is about. |

Maps Update: 17th of April | Its crazy to know what happens in just a day on OSM. More frequent bulletins please? |

|

The effect of the new iD release on restrictions | Nice analysis. Goes to show the impact any feature on osm.org has on the data quality of the project. Been following the development of this feature on iD, its an amazing effort by Bryan to get this out. Thank you from everyone! |

Non-English keywords in English iD interface. | @Dzertanoj @nzan Before we go on making assumptions about a country with 1.3 billion people, lets celebrate the fact that the system is open enough for the actual users in the country to make improvements as needed. Thank you @bhousel! |

Non-English keywords in English iD interface. |
Good catch, have never heard the term in common use in India for a temple. Have submitted improvements to the list which should fix this. |

Descriptions of OSM tags in any language using Wikidata |
Wikidata is flexible enough to allow anyone to create a new concept if it does not overlap with an existing one, so its fairly easy to correct the definition in such situations to align almost perfectly with the OSM concept. |

OSMCha News - January/2018 | This is amazing, thank you Wille! |

Viewing OpenStreetMap tiles in GL |
Thats right, haven’t figured out how to have just a blank style and add a TMS layer. One would not need a API key then. |
|
Viewing OpenStreetMap tiles in GL | OpenLayers is definitely an alternative and have added that. Not sure if leaflet can do this, do share an example if you find it. Creating a GL stylesheet of osm-carto will be quite a challenge, the label placement/collision in GL does not seem as mature as mapnik. Still might be a interesting project to try out. |

Hi Friends | Nice work, and welcome to OSM! |

Mapping forest outlines | Nice work! Admittedly, many of those ugly large forests were traced by me using landsat over 6 years ago, nice to see many of them getting updated! |
