Anyone with experience mapping here and able to explain things in a idiots guide sorta way, want to keep an eye on edits I make and be available for me to ask questions of? I know I can ask here, but thought rather than clutter up the board with dumb questions, it might be better if I had access to someone personally.
Thanks

Ideally you would be best finding another mapper close to you, because there is slight variations in mapping methodologies to help conform to local requirements, be that local local, state/territory local or even in the same country.
There is also country based mailing lists you can ask for help.
Failing that there is the newbies mailing list, the general talk list and so on.

You are living in Northern India, so it is a good idea to look at the India tagging guidelines in the Wiki:
osm.wiki/India
osm.wiki/Talk:Tagging_Roads_in_India

The best way to go about it is just to jump in. Reference the map features page on the wiki and try to copy what other people have done in the area. We all have to start somewhere. Start small with some easier features and then work your way up.
