downloading Garmin Map Tiles

Posted by Rogerdodger on 27 August 2010 in English.

Ok this is probably not relevant here, but Ive run out of options and you guys are always awesome at answering. I have a Garmin 60scx Ive been downloading map tiles from Lamburtus at http://garmin.na1400.info/routable.php I've mapped a lot of new stuff in my area, so wanted to update my maps in both Mapsource and my garmin, so downloaded the current map from lamburtus. His map shows a up to date OSM map but the tile I'm downloading seems to be an old version with non of my data on.

I don't know if I have to write html to make these pictures appear, but here are two screen shots, one shows what is currently in the tile from Lamburtus and the other is what I get on Mapsource after downloading the tile.

Anyone know what could be going on? I thought perhaps I was doing something wrong and not uploading the new tiles to both my Garmin and Mapsource, but Ive deleted the old maps out and so Im sure Im only loading this new tile.

Did you read "Based on OpenStreetMap data from: 26-07-2010." under the map?

Lambertus updates the downloadable map about once a week (but sometimes only once a month). The map you see on the website is the same map as you see on openstreetmap.org. It is used only for selecting the tiles - so that you know what you're selecting. It is more recent than the downloadable data.
As wieland said at the bottom of the map there's the date when the downloadable map was last updated. Now it reads "Based on OpenStreetMap data from: 26-07-2010".

Maybe you'll find another map which suits your needs:
