OSM tile server inplemented in SVG

Δημοσιεύτηκε από τον/την Ruth Lang στις 9 Νοέμβριος 2009 στα English.

In the meanwhile the OSM tile server (tile.openstreetmap.org) is now implemented in Mappetizer for ArcGIS.

If you would like to have a look at an example:

http://www.mappetizer.de/en/examples/osm_wiki/index.html

In this example the Wikipedia Geocoding Webservice by GeoNames is also included.
An "invisible" SVG layer gives information about the countries.

Best regards
Ruth

Hi, that is a really cool application. Two (minor?) problems I've seen:
- I can't get the Wikipedia-button to do anything (at least I don't see anything happen)
- Zooming to Vatican City ends up somewhere in West Africa

@lyx
push this i(nformation)-button and click on the Wikipedia-Icons.

@mbuege: got it now, thanks.
Some of the Wikipedia-Icons seem to be misplaced on the map; I had a closer look on the map of Oman, and while quite a few W-icons point to articles related to Oman, some are pointing to articles related to Spain. The coordinates displayed on those wikipedia-articles appear to be correct (i.e. located in Spain), though.

Hy lyx,
thank you for your comment. Vatican City is no longer in West Africa, this was actually a bug in our software (thank you that you got us to find this bug).
Spain located articles in Oman: I had a look and I get those lat/lng values from GeoNames. Seems to be wrong there...
