Hi!
Please...
- Keep a logic when you plot or change the ways according reality. I don't know why you felt the need to change how it was but it was already all correct. Here: osm.org/node/5860891428/history
We first enter a typical foot way with a cobblestone surface and even if its' just about 1 meter away only after we encounter the gate leading to the trail... Which brings me...
- What is a wicked gate??? It's not even in OSM's Wiki. It's a "swing gate". If you feel it does not meet the requirement according the real object because of some important specifications, you first create a proposition is OSM's Wiki for the whole process. Wicked gate isn't understood by the code at all.

Thanks for you comprehension! I had to RE correct again...

Welcome! Yeah i saw you are a beginner. You added a "path" (single trails, narrow paths...) 😉 A track is the larger way suitable for 4 wheeled vehicles (2 visible trails, forestry/agricultural vehicles...) and unmaintained, often bare ground or raw material/degraded. Indeed it's important to respect the tags adopted by consensus by OMS's community so that everybody have the same references. You can find all info in OSM's Wiki.

OK i understand for the name. It is actually suggested by the OSM editor you used (iD), the interface makes it available so that people have it easy to edit, but you are not forced to add one.

The routing capabilities are not about the recorded GPS trace, rather how a system can route a planned course in a network of ways, like your GPS device is giving you the directions or a car GPS planner. That's why it needs to be connected to the network of highways (other elemnts work liek "leisure=track" (motorized vehicules racing course)

I enhanced the position of the trails and bench because i have other sources i can work with but i might be wrong since it's not always easy to see it on them or are inaccurate or outdated (for example Geoportail.lu Topo). OK thanks for the precision in the connection, i had seen also there a connection but there are so many ditches in that area. I will replace the bench also.

OK, OSM is not a Strava like type of service. We are serious about mapping so names unique to Strava are not allowed, we only add elements which exist for real and only local official or popular names. Anyway for your info, that segment is not anymore in Strava's explorer.

Also that path you added was connected to a bench, not to the track, so the routing capabilities were broken, I corrected.

If you are interested in adding MTB elements so that the trail becomes known to mtbikers and does not disappear because of vegetation, you can add the tags
- mtb:scale=1-6 (overall scale difficulty)
- mtb:scale:imba=1-5 (international system scale difficulty)
- mtb:scale:uphill=1-4 (scale difficulty for climbs)

More info here: osm.wiki/Key:mtb:scale

Yeah better stay focus during mountian biking, it's risky otherwise. Have you been riding this area for a long time?

By the way, i'm going to update the changes myself.

Thanks for your quick response and confirmation! One can maybe miss something as sometimes the trails are faint. But honestly the other trail is already great and far enough for fun hiking or mountain biking.

U said "drove", do you mountain bike?

Hello! What are your sources for ahaving reactivated this way? Did you really found and take that track? I really doubt, i have been there recently, the path suggested on outdated maps is actually a depression which may have been taken long time ago but not anymore because of vegetation, fallen trees and other unstable elements.

Hello!
Please do not combine access=no + "specific access tags"=yes (such as foot=yes or bicycle=yes). It is illogical to combine a general restriction with specific allowances. You should have guessed though by viewing how the map is rendered by combining those as you did: it shows the way greyed out, therefore not accessible. Users who do not have access to OSM's data and just view the map can't neither see the data combination you entered.

Also if you can remember of other locations where you did such combination, please correct it.

Thanks for your comprehension!

It's not an interpretation. What i see on the Geoportail.lu aerial photos from 2019 are parking spots surrounding the way i showed you.

75142084 over 5 years ago

Hi! You removed the parking aisle tag from this way and others: osm.org/way/374875706/history
It's a mistake! Please read OSM's wiki before using any tag, even if you think you know. It's important to respect the consensus adopted by the community. If you want to change it, please discuss it and make propositions.

Pour info, vous l'aviez coupé près du Parc Lei.

83076525 over 5 years ago

Bonjour,
