שלום, האם הכוונה לחניון לילה?

טעיתי לגבי ויקיפידיה, ויש גם עוד ערך לאזור הגאוגרפי בשם Menashe hills

אני עדיין חושב שזה "אקדמאי" ולא מספיק notable או בשימוש כדי להיחשב כשם, אבל בהחלט יתכן שאני טועה

מההנחיות הישראליות לתרגום:

1. Prefer exact spelling as seen on signs.

2. Only use translations that are in actual use and/or can be seen on a sign. If there is no translation available, do not invent one!

3. When there's no translation, transliteration can be used, but it has caveats.

במקרה הזה, אני חושב שזה 3, כלומר Ramot Menashe

נקודה נוספת היא התרגום לאנגלית - צריך שזה לא יהיה שם מומצא.

למשל, Forester's House זה תרגום תקין לבית היערן, כי זה תרגום שנמצא בשימוש בפועל והשם הרשמי של קקל באתר שלהם.

לעומת זאת, Menashe Hills זה תרגום מומצא. זה לא שם בשימוש, ואפילו הערך בוויקיפידיה הוא פשוט Ramot Menashe

כלל אצבע זה לשאול את עצמך "האם מישהו יחפש את השם הזה"

בגדול, התגיות כבר מתארות את זה. אם זה לא מופיע כמו שצריך במפה מסוימת הפתרון הוא לשנות את אופן ההצגה של המפה ולא להוסיף מידע כפול לשם

שים לב שב-OSM יש הנחיה בשם "name is the name only" - כלומר, שמות תאוריים כמו "ברז מים", "פארק אופניים" וכו לא צריכים להיות בשם.

בנוסף, שים לב שעדכנת את `name` אבל לא את `name:he` והם צריכים להיות זהים.

For example, יהודה הלווי street is now secondary south of a roundabout, and tertiary north of it. See here: osm.org/way/27167957

Same with יגאל אלון here: osm.org/way/750048540, East to West.

I think the highway categories may have been modified inconsistently.

Could you please double check them or verify that this is what you intended to do?

When I posted this, I had accidentally assumed you made mass edits in Israel - but I was viewing your worldwide changes. You only made one edit here and this makes my comment less urgent, though the general point stands, if you intend to mass edit further

Hello! According to OSM guidelines, mass edits must first be discussed with the community.

While I don't have any opinion whether this is good or not, it should have been discussed with the Israel community first.

In particular, IsraelHikingMap is a popular editor around here, and you should at least make sure your auto edits do not conflict the way that editors adds tags, so that there wouldn't be an accidental "edit fight" back and fourth between the two methods.
