166420255 | 3 months ago |
1. Prefer exact spelling as seen on signs. 2. Only use translations that are in actual use and/or can be seen on a sign. If there is no translation available, do not invent one! 3. When there's no translation, transliteration can be used, but it has caveats. Ramot Menashe |
166390610 | 3 months ago |
166390610 | 3 months ago | היי צור, שים לב שב-OSM יש הנחיה בשם "name is the name only" - כלומר, שמות תאוריים כמו "ברז מים", "פארק אופניים" וכו לא צריכים להיות בשם. הנחיות שמות לישראל: osm.wiki/Israel#Naming Name is the name only: osm.wiki/Editing_Standards_and_Conventions#Name_is_the_name_only |
166357676 | 3 months ago | Seconded. It would be great if you reduce your changeset size by splitting per country or something. |
161563065 | 3 months ago | Fixed in osm.org/changeset/166378868 |
166105471 | 3 months ago | I removed the invented name and kept "Nahal Ezov" in osm.org/changeset/166357703 |
166323056 | 3 months ago | Typo. I meant to say, this resolves osm.org/note/4249535 |
166323056 | 3 months ago | Added in osm.org/note/4249535 |
165943520 | 3 months ago | It also happens on the following junctions: |
165943520 | 3 months ago | I slightly mistyped a sentence. The wording is: "Thank you for the feedback. One reason I asked is because after these edits, some roads change from Secondary to Tertiary mid-way. Although this is not impossible, I suspect it's a mapping error. " |
165943520 | 3 months ago | Thank you for the feedback. One reason I asked is because after these edits, some roads from Secondary to Tertiary mid-way. Although this is not impossible, I thought suspected it's a mapping error. For example, יהודה הלווי street is now secondary south of a roundabout, and tertiary north of it. See here: osm.org/way/27167957 Same with יגאל אלון here: osm.org/way/750048540, East to West. I think the highway categories may have been modified inconsistently. Could you please double check them or verify that this is what you intended to do? |
166307471 | 3 months ago | Sorry. When I posted this, I had accidentally assumed you made mass edits in Israel - but I was viewing your worldwide changes. You only made one edit here and this makes my comment less urgent, though the general point stands, if you intend to mass edit further |
166308631 | 3 months ago | I accidentally commented on the wrong changeset here. |

Hello! According to OSM guidelines, mass edits must first be discussed with the community. While I don't have any opinion whether this is good or not, it should have been discussed with the Israel community first. In particular, IsraelHikingMap is a popular editor around here, and you should at least make sure your auto edits do not conflict the way that editors adds tags, so that there wouldn't be an accidental "edit fight" back and fourth between the two methods. |
