These are slipways, not drydocks. Actually, I wonder if we should even call them slipways, perhaps abandoned:service=slipway would be better? They're not usable and are maintained as museum exhibits.

You're right, I should've opened a note instead! I'm not sure why I couldn't determine the office (or perhaps this is a case of EveryDoor's preset making something look odd?).

I shall walk past there and re-survey the building. There are few offices that open to Wray Ave, and a few that open to an internal passage I think.

Is this actually a separate trail to Ngank Yira Bidi (relation 6838122)? It looks incomplete, and follows pretty much the same path as that one. There's no mention of a 2022 trail on the website: https://www.rottnestisland.com/visit/getting-around/by-foot

Hi everyone, thanks for this interesting discussion! I seems I was wrong about my newly-learnt idea that type=route was *not* to be used just to collate road parts together. I thought type=street was the way to go, but I'm very happy to switch all these back to type=route with route=road.

There are some slightly odd bits, such as High Street osm.org/relation/8536837 which has parts that are pedestrian.

Anyway, happy to continue the discussion on the forum! :-)

Why remove names from chalets in a caravan park? What name do they have other than their number? Seems like a loss of useful information.

The addresses can be added to the street relation (many places do that), but there's also info that's not redundant, i.e. the wikidata ID can be kept in the relation and need not be added to every road segment.

Oops, I've just recreated a Wray Avenue relation (16562551), didn't realise you'd deleted one (11500168).

Although I'm not quite sure what your comment means: do you mean that it was not the right type? Or that there shouldn't be a relation?

The path you've got running from Digby Drive south and between the lakes is not there, there's nothing on the ground but thick trees and no sign of a track (at least at the northern end, along the cliff-top).

Is this another 1940s track that is now completely grown over?

I'm going to delete it, if you don't mind.

Don't worry, I'm not going to delete anything (don't have time at the moment). But I'd recommend you remove the copyright data! Especially these lots that are within the brownfield area, they're still many years from development as far as I know, and there's no signage saying where or what they are.

Just keep in mind that most publicly-visible data is *not* actually okay for using in OSM. Unfortunately!

It looks like lots of these ruined barracks are not actually extant on the ground, and so should not be mapped. Some of them are I think, such as the three to the east of the Homestead, but the others have zero trace on the ground and so are not verifiable.
