OSM mapping: My opinions and experiences
أُرسل بواسطه Sebastien Elliot فى 29 June 2018 باللغه EnglishHello My name is Sebastien and I’m from the Philippines
I have recently started to do mapping around my area and I have to say I really appreciate the effort of this community to help other people by providing the necessary information for an open source project. The community help especially when there are emergencies in certain communities, some would even go out of there way to help other communities unrelated to them, so I started to help out these people.
It may be a little tiring but if you look at the bigger picture it could help save lots of people’s lives. When I started my first few hours trying OSM out I felt like it was a big chore, however I started enjoying it. To help people in various countries I was recommended to HOT Tasking manager. There you can see the urgency of the project to be done and what needs to be mapped, the most common ones are buildings and roads around the city. There are also a couple of mobile applications that might help you out by tracking you with GPS. This can help you by marking the places you walk over.
I would recommend doing OSM to everyone so that we may all help the community together.

Mabuhay! Welcome to OpenStreetMap.
I found three recent diaries from new mappers from the Philippines, sharing about their OSM experience, and one of those is yours.
Yours is cool, because you even bothered to add images in your entry.
I’m curious to know about the internship you’re doing. Do you mind saying which institution is this?
