Changeset When Comment

Hi

With 53K change sets you surely would know that doing edits in one save of spots far apart creates very big bound boxes too which causes everyone in-between to get this update shown in their local history view. Please make saves per small area. I'm told it's very easy with the JOSM map editor. Not interested to know what's updated in Denmark or Greece and causing every in between to wonder with just the 'tolo' comment: What did the mapper do?

TIA and Happy mapping.

Details angepasst, 2 nodes einer nahe Berlin, zweiter nahe ein fluss in India. Vielen dank um alle zwischen diese zwei punkte zu informieren. Weshalb frage ich mir nur in ein einziger change set und nicht separat rapportiert?

See, not that hard and smaller change sets make for easier commenting too ,o)

God maps WITH preserving history and if it cant be, note why, WITH meaningful commentaries on all sets.

Clearly you're above it, beyond correction. But still you should be detailing the important pieces, like deleting a few dozen buildings. The 'whoever' won't be happy.

110482244 almost 4 years ago

That was blatantly obvious from your always clear, complete and meaningful change set commentary... let the (re)viewers guess WIH (What in heavens) you're doing and why. 2 OSM wiki's spring to mind 1) good CS commentaries. 2) Change history. The 'whoever' is easy discovered.

Hi,

Very curious, all these buildings disappearing. Did they fail some standard of someone or was it the 2009 earthquake that flattened them ;?

hi,

Any particular reason you removed the amenity=parking tag from this 'parking'? I've put it back!
NB: It's a standard required tag on all and every parking facility.

'line' as in appearing as a white line is a red flag. It means it's not connected to a relation, a multipolygon or no keys were tagged to describe it's function. It's deeply odd, on one winter image set the track is clearly visible, in the other the summer canopy, which is the older imagery, even streetview shows the track going half way into the bush.

Some sections along the Foro are infamously 'dissestato'. In March along a quarry closer to Fara, south side of the stream, had to carry the bike as the path was gone too, no space to even make a turn, a wet clay path of 20 cm wide left and a 2 meter fall into the water if I'd lost balance.

Anyway, comments and source=... tags are best including survey references. Visit the map again and you'll find it's very green now.

cheers

Hi,

When you deleted the 'road' you also broke the woodland relatio, it disappeared from the rendered map and threw up several alert flags. Carefully assess anything you consider deleting. In this case the mere 'track' tag removal would have sufficed.

Thanks for your attention.

Hi all,

Lurker here watching the conversation. For / against and middle ground positions been shared so not going to add on that but to say that any, ANY tool that can purge these continental and global CS's from my 50x60 km history view, area of interest and watched like a hawk, is welcome to share their pointers. I see a dozen WW a day, several will happily insert themselves in my eyesight for days on end regardless of the max of maximized zoom in (readers between the lines get the gist of where I stand). Anyway, Smart Menu is another added to my mega active tool box.

Happy mapping.

Hi again,

Since you could not be bothered to respond I fixed the issue, please added a functional key as per 2 error flags.

Trattoria Abruzzese turned Piccolo Forno Antico and parking is lit. Condo name is officially Residence "Le Lune".

hi

adding all those building=yes only tagged objects is great, absent any feature tag at all, roof type, levels, house, residential, apartment, condo, AND pleaaaaze mind the shapes... quality over quantity should rule, boxes everyone can map, this appears more like map filler. Does OSM need that?

cheers

Contrada Brecciarola is a very nice way (poor quality) to cycle from 500 to over 1000 slm starting at Manoppello and then descending to Serramonacesca. Park the bike and walk to castel Manardo and Eromo Sant'Onofrio to spend a day.

Also, converted place area to residential and create hamlet POI, those loveable conventions, that make sense.

OK so 2 iD Editor tabs were open, the first reused without first switching to history whilst having completed/saved an CS in a second browser tab. Speculation, continuing where i was before editing/expanding the same long line will have copied it into the session. Note to self. Make sure all tabs are in history view before resuming edit.

Pity the original set did not warn on this, suspecting a new edit was started without loading fresh data and a copy was saved again of the offending line. Just viewed that set in history... no geometry warnings.
