116546264 | over 3 years ago | High I battled with this forest of 2100 members this morning many many areas that had 2 outlines, 1 for the forest inner and one for the inside (Don't ask me what that mapper was thinking). There's still dozens of 'outer' areas in this MP that are not even tagged with the inner role so they render with trees in them. I was actually waiting for the 10:30PM update by OSM Inspector to see if anything else needed addressing, so observing you did something to a scrub zone from which I cleaned the duplicate lines this morning, so please be patient. If 2 start hacking in the same wood, 1 will end up below a fallen tree ;o). ciao |
116538396 | over 3 years ago | Apologies if the forest disappeared. This mad collection of 2100 members somewhere has an overlap or unclosed line or something. Hope tonight OSM Inspector will point to the place where the issue sits. |
116516768 | over 3 years ago | Impossible to work with, nuts to say the least to have a forest with 2102 members, screens updating as slow a molasses. |
116452249 | over 3 years ago | Hi, Osmose is flagging 4 areas with "Untagged area object" at the newly mapped cantina, which have surface feature tags such as cobblestone but no key tag what the use of the area is. Mapping paved areas in OSM is a very grey zone outside highway and landuse type, nothing satisfactory I've come across. ciao |
116502703 | over 3 years ago | While there, squared the building corners. |
116461407 | over 3 years ago | Add missing outer roles to schoolgrounds. |
116311429 | over 3 years ago | The test in ID history view mode is to right click a forest edge, select query features and view the whole. All borders of the forest relation are rendered in red. If you see a red line cutting in between the touching bare rock and grass sides you know what to fix. No need to wait for the 12 hourly or daily Inspector and Osmose updates for the warnings to show up. Oh and the other things i did while there are unrelated to your changes. |
116311429 | over 3 years ago | You're not the only one tripping up. The simplest sample is drawings a circle called forest which is outer and map in there 2 free floating squares of grass and bare rock, the 8 out-sides of the squares is inner to the forest circle. Redraw these same squares sharing 1 side with each other. Now both have only 3 sides each that are inner to the forest circle, between the touching sides of the squares is no forest, only the grass side touching the bare rock side, outer-outer. To resolve in mapping you need to cut up the squares and remove the forest role where the squares share a side. Net, not 8 sides of the 2 squares are inner to the forest, but 6. The moment any side of a square shares a side with the circle outer, the whole square becomes outer to the circle as its nolonger 360 degrees immersed, the forest is only on 3 sides again. In ID editor edit mode the view should always have clear grass and bare rock inside rims. If it shows forest trees inside the square's rims, kind of superimposed on the grass and bare rock inside rim area, something is wrong with the role assignments. |
116374165 | over 3 years ago | saw you mapped (not seen by me before) tunnel area as well. You might like to dive into motorway area mapping, a popular endeavour in areas of Germany. 2 lanes, 3, 4, 5, 6, yes I've been on 8 too state side, per direction + plus the sfortuna lane. The system FAIHS renders all the same width. Then like here on the bridge, the symmetry becomes clear too... at least if it's determined the area is placed correctly, the road could use a move to the centre, if it tickles your fancy. Piers/abutments, bridge construction, name, length tags can be moved here too. The wiki proposes so IIRC. Of course there's the Italian OSM chapter... Enjoy. |
116380668 | over 3 years ago | That did it, grassland in full view again \o/ |
116266527 | over 3 years ago | The change set notes 3 problem were solved, no warnings. If the is a new problem due to my doing i will get notified automatically in my error reports i review daily. Cheers |
116311429 | over 3 years ago | Hi You should be aware that you are leaving a long trail of broken areas, duplicate segments, unclosed rings, overlapping area rings and what not problems with your landuse additions. E.g. if you map inside a woodland a bare rock and grassland area that border with each other then then border should should not any inner role tags for woodland. The result of this edit sert is that the grassland has disappeared from the map rendering. So you're aware on before your next effort. cheers |
95224223 | over 3 years ago | Hi Matteo Is this Matthew City for real? The 'border' was mistagged as outer per Keepright, changed it to inner and added a few more buildings to 'the city'state. |
116349061 | over 3 years ago | While there, tagged the net inner areas as natural=grassland with outer role to itself. |
116345975 | over 3 years ago | Hi there Louis and welcome to OSM 2 points. 1) save your change set before moving to another location. Now UK Dover and Kinshasa are in the same change set and everyone in between gets this listed in their local history for days.
cheers and happy mapping from Italy and dont hesitate to ask if you get stuck. |
116251821 | over 3 years ago | Whatever official, at the corner, north side of the new rotonda there's a road sign Strada Vicinale Acquatorbida , the historical connection to the south side of via Tirino. No signs of private. ;O) |
116293901 | over 3 years ago | Welcome to OSM, You write 'ajoit' d'une maison' in France and then you also change a signmaker node somewhere on an Indian Ocean island in the same edit. Please don't do that. Keep your edits local, save them and then move to the next location. Now everyone sees this in the history list from Paris to Madagascar. Happy mapping and ciao from Italy.

116189852 | over 3 years ago | Already fixed yesterday and OSM Inspector cleared the board on these. Added some grasland while there with 2 blank zone inside left which look like ruin/abandoned building groups Ciao |
116189852 | over 3 years ago | Hi, Please take note: You've mistagged a lot of areas in the past day with 'inner' role tags when they are in fact 'outer' borders. 'Inner' does apply when a single area is 360 degrees enclosed by another area, say a grassland patch in a forest. |
116203722 | over 3 years ago | Hi, I'm impressed you're able to confirm that e.g. water taps are still there in northern and southern Italy on the same day. Did you actually 'survey' as what the StreetComplete tool is for? cheers from middle Italy. |
