128404733 | almost 3 years ago | Doubtlessly there are Via Cavour's that refer to the town, but usually there will be a context of surrounding streets w/ town names. Stand alone, never would think of a town. |
128404733 | almost 3 years ago | Actually there's a wiki statement that says that: In case of a naming dispute, that what's on the road sign prevails", period, something in that wording. i.e. Via Cavour per the pole sign is indisputable no matter what, I have seen nowhere anytime different for this name, coincidentally day before in Ortona, and updated, etymology and all. When surveying with SC and leaving a mapnote, I will attach a phto of the sign to back it up. Unfortunately SC images disappear about 14 days after the note is marked complete which is why JOSM now gives a warning for links to these images. PS, I make exception for the initials in street names, so changed e.g. Via D. Pugliese to Via Domenico Pugliese. Also wiki supported (The wall sign actually says Dom. Pugliese). The data consumers are free to abbreviate mechanically if they want. Bar the fat finger typos I leave, the correctors better have a good story. ciao |
128459423 | almost 3 years ago | The code is the change set number as seen in the CS summary.
Comments help to determine if they can just be ignored or actually have a subject of interest. No comment or codes invokes suspicion. |
128404733 | almost 3 years ago | The consequence of this action is that addresses that had the full street name are now being flagged in QA with "No street with name "Via Camillo Benso conte di Cavour" found around". That's quite a few.
As someone wrote in an argument "mapping should be fun". |
128420758 | almost 3 years ago | And so we learned that if an object is not fully downloaded as was long 1 line Via Nazionale and start cutting it up and rename a section you get a validator warning that the object is incomplete when saving. If then downloading the object in full one ends up with 2 ways on top of each other, nodes merged and all and no validator warning when saving the edit. Presto pronto, a 35 node duplicate edge created. 👎 This would not have been possible in ID Editor unless hitting the ignore button. Me don't. |
113529146 | almost 3 years ago | Hi, I've been struggling with ZTL zone tagging versus what OSM Inspector is flagging as having an Island Car issue in Ortona. Studying the Modena ZTL zone, Via Caselle, osm.org/way/23196324 is the only one that is signalled as having the very issue in ZTL, the difference being that everything around is tagged as motor_vehicle=private and this street is motor_vehicle=yes. which highlights basically that all the area is allowed at some time of day/week for cars, but Caselle has no restriction. Given it's inside the ZTL zone it than gets turned into a car island, no in or out. The solution for Caselle is obvious... align with tagging of surrounding streets but given my poor comprehension of the subject, leaving the correction to you 😎 ciao from the Abruzzi. |

128380979 | almost 3 years ago | Great, to paraphrase what they say in shops, "you break it, you bought it", in OSM it's "you change it, you own & fix it" albeit, going by the number of ignores the neis report logs for ID users e.g. https://hdyc.neis-one.org/?dp7 , sadly the reality is quite different. /o\ BG |
128380979 | almost 3 years ago | Hi, You path crosses water twice (warnings:crossing_ways:highway-waterway: 2). You need to qualify what those crossings area.... bridge, ford, culvert in stream ciao? |
128233639 | almost 3 years ago | Hi Still a veritable mess, seeing a miles long bridge on top of a miles long path which is mapped largely on top of a miles long path, the eldest, that ratrun mapped 3 years ago. Are you ready to use the reverter as moving a few nodes wont do it, Still flagged in OSMI. Ciao |
128239601 | almost 3 years ago | Hi, Welcome to OSM. This is not the shape of the building,, that was the construction area. You need to map the buildings separately, which look like 2 attached apartment buildings, 4-5 floors with a connect in between, probably needing the condo=yes tag in addition. ciao. |
128131897 | almost 3 years ago | Hi ancora.

128198661 | almost 3 years ago | Render of the 325, now 327 member farmland has successfully restored. If the causing section suggests, the missing outline piece was last edited 5 years ago and view at 2km zoom and lower wtih no farmland showing confirms it's been longer broken. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi il a été cassé aussi longtemps. |
128131897 | almost 3 years ago | Hi, The area you mapped covers same areas as existing forest and the outlines cross themselves which cannot be. What's the plan with this 'project'? L'area che hai mappato copre le stesse aree della foresta esistente e i contorni si incrociano, cosa che non può essere. Qual è il piano con questo? Questo progetto ha un nome? SekeRob |
128110564 | almost 3 years ago | E? Edifice non e inner per niente, Amico. ;o) |
128031486 | almost 3 years ago | Ce ne sono già stati parecchi sulla costa, amico ;O),. Non ha urgenza. Vecchia espressione inglese DIRFT: Do it right first time every time (Fallo bene la prima volta ogni volta.) |
128097087 | almost 3 years ago | We (me at least) also witnesses that your JOSM version is 18463 where the latest stable tested is 18570. 😎 PS, it's curious that at least 4 of your springs are corners of the same building, so was it springs you did or something else too ;P). |
128097087 | almost 3 years ago | OR, as JOSM allows, upload each object separately: Upload screen > Settings tab > "Upload each object individually" radio button, Di niente Almost Too Simple. |
128031486 | almost 3 years ago | Hi, V.v. your resolution of duplicate segments, you ignored entirely that a Trabocco consist of a building in the sea on poles aka it's on layer=1, a walking bridge from shore to building and planks on poles (the arms you see reaching out into the see from which the fishing nets are hung out). In short, not a building of multiple parts. Now the DS errors on OSMI has disappeared and everyone forgets the mapping is entirely wrong. Rosoluzione niente. |
127813200 | almost 3 years ago | Gone ahead and reported the issue of valid tag removals and leaving the white lines only to the Data Work Group "mapping for rendering", to include incorrect tag usages such as footways as areas. Unacceptable to me. cheers |
