Well, it's been a few months since I posted my first diary entry, so I thought I'd better bring things up to date.

Having completed the streets in the Hedinghams I've also looked at Wethersfield, Earls Colne, Toppesfield, Gosfield and Halstead. These towns and villages are pretty much done as far as streets are concerned, but there are still lots of footpaths and PoIs to add. There are times when it feels as though one is making progress, and then suddenly one realises what a huge task faces the Openstreetmap contributors!

Anyway, for the moment I'm just concentrating on sorting out the unclassified / tertiary local roads which still haven't been added or classified - there are still a surprising number of these - and on finishing off Tiptree and Coggeshall's residential streets.

Having always held a fascination for maps, this project is right up my street!

I'd like to be able to map the Hedinghams as accurately as the equipment I possess allows, and I'm using it as a way to divert my energies away from work at least once a week. So far I've plotted all of Castle Hedingham's streets, and have started on footpaths and other features.

This weekend I've begun work on Sible Hedingham's streets, but I can see that it will take a lot of work to get it to a reasonable standard, and I'm less familiar with the footpaths.
