Mapillary and cylceway tagging question

於 2014年十二月31日 由 SkippernEnglish發表。 上一次更新在 2015年一月 2日。

I have started gathering a lot of images with Mapillary. I have managed to secure my iPhone in an improvised way to gather tracks while I drive while I am waiting for the arrival of my Garmin VIRB Elite. In the meantime I have installed the upload scripts on my computer, and are now looping it to get all my images up.

That brings me to a question, in Vitoria there are some main roads that changes restrictions during the week. See attached photo (link to Mapillary).

Question

The red line defines the rightmost lane as a dedicated cycleway on Sundays from 07:00 to 15:00, that same line are Bus Priority Lane the rest of the week, while some parts of it are Bus Only Lane in rush hours. The same lane is straight_on/right_turn on intersections where you can turn right, while the middle lane have this option when right lane is cycleway. Left lane is straight_on/left_turn on intersections where you can turn left unless a dedicated turning lane is present, in this case it is straight_on_only.

My question is than, how is a restriction like this tagged?

The road is already: highway=secondary oneway=yes name=Avenida Saturnino de Brito maxspeed=60

位置: Região Administrativa V - Praia do Canto, Vitória, Região Geográfica Imediata de Vitória, Greater Vitória, Região Geográfica Intermediária de Vitória, Espírito Santo, Southeast Region, Brazil

Thats a really complex situation =) Maybe these link could be useful osm.wiki/Conditional_restrictions osm.wiki/Lanes#Crossing_with_a_designated_lane_for_bicycles osm.wiki/Key:lanes osm.wiki/Key:turn:lanes#Turning_indications_per_lane

For the informations you gave us I would tag the part of the street thats visible in the mapillary link like this: lanes=4 turn:lanes=left|through|through|[throught (might be through;right,,thats not clearly visible)] bus:lanes:conditional or lanes:psv:conditional (depending on access for taxis)=|||designated @ (Mo-Sa; Su 0:00-7:00, 15:00-24:00) bicycle:lanes:conditional=|||designated @ (Su 7:00-15:00)

Don’t take this for a fixed tagging approach. Cases like this are at the edge of whats possible with current tagging “standards”. If you have an idea how to improve and simplify this kind of lane tagging feel free to share it with the community.

I knew it would be complex, I will try to add a few of these in the nezt couple of days and link the way ovjects here in the comment.

I don’t know if the current Mapillary is detailed enough to tag everything, but at least include a few more details

Something like this?

thats almost how I would do it bicycle:lanes describes the bicycle access for all lanes. If bicycles are allowed on the other lanes it should tagged with yes (otherwise no). It could look like this: bicycle:lanes:conditional=yes|yes|yes|designated @ (Su 07:00-15:00)

If the access restriction for other lanes is unknown, I think it is possible to just leave them empty: bicycle:lanes:conditional=|||designated @ …

Short explanation for lane tagging. lanes are tagged from leftmost lane to the rightmost lane separated with

For turn lanes it is visible that the leftmost lanes is a left turn lane so it should be more like this: turn:lanes=left|through|through|through
