I have tried to put into system the tags that need more work on the wiki. In the work of marking stub tags I noticed that some tags that was missing in English had pages in other languages, and even a couple that was redirecting directly to other language pages. I have been able to compile a list of tags that either are missing in English (or extremely short) where other language pages exists.
There are actually 4 languages that have these pages, Finnish, German, Russian, and Italian. I did not check wether these pages are stubs aswell or if they have descriptions.
Since I am limited to the following three languages: English, Norwegian and Portuguese, any translations between these languages I can help with, and during this process I also translated (or rather gave a fuller description) to the special Brazillian key:cep that was only partly described in Portuguese.
The list:
Tag:amenity=hunting_stand - German keywords describing? the tag in English page
Tag:historic=battlefield - Russian
Tag:historic=manor - German
Tag:leisure=water_park - German
Tag:power=minor_line - German and Finnish
Tag:power=pole - German and Finnish
Tag:shop=confectionary - Russian
Tag:wood=coniferous/deciduous/mixed - Russian
Tag:boundary=water_protection_area - German
Tag:historic=monastary - German
Tag:natural=stone - German
Tag:power=cable_distribution_cabinet - German
Tag:leisure=dog_park - Italian
If everybody helps getting these pages to English, and try to keep at least an English language page of every keys and tags to use, than it is much easier to translate the documentation to other languages. Remember that there probably are people understanding (and able to translate to and from) English in every language, while not every community can find people understanding other languages.

I am not sure what your question is but here are the german translation of some:
Tag:amenity=hunting_stand - if that is one of those things where rangers wait for animals, then it is "Hochsitz"
Tag:historic=manor - Herrenhaus probably
Tag:power=pole - Hochspannungsmast (if it is for "high current")
Tag:boundary=water_protection_area - Wasserschutzgebiet
Tag:historic=monastary - Kloster
Tag:natural=stone - Stein
Tag:power=cable_distribution_cabinet - Kabelverteilungskasten (ugh, bad but I don't know a better word. there should be a proper term in german for this)

HannesHH, I didn't ask for the german translation of the words, you obviously didn't read my post or didn't understand it. All the pages you are mentioning are in German, a language I do not understand. In order to be able to translate the above pages to Portuguese I need them in English or Norwegian, your call.

Just these left without English now:
Tag:amenity=hunting_stand
Tag:leisure=water_park
Tag:power=pole - this appears to be the equivalent of Tag:power=tower for Tag:power=minor_line
Tag:shop=confectionary - Can't see this used
Tag:boundary=water_protection_area - Proposed: osm.wiki/Proposed_features/Key:natural_protection
Tag:natural=stone - "large boulders that were transported during the ice ages from Scandinavia to central Europe"
Tag:power=cable_distribution_cabinet - "In these cabinets, the 400-V circuits to the house connections, connection and transfer points of the regional utilities are branched.Other uses include distributions of the municipal street lighting or connection and transfer points for showmen, etc"

A plead for translation, and half is done within a few hours :D Maybe we can manage to get the number of stubs down as well?

Skippern: Was changing the wikitext of the [[Key:]] pages from {{tag|key|value}} to {{tag|key||example}} considered?
Kommentar von Skippern am 8. Januar 2010 um 13:16 Uhr
goldfndr: That entirely depends on the value of the keys, IMO all common values should have a page, if not other at least a redirect to a common description of several values. Many keys can describe the common values, such as key:wood kan describe tag:wood=mixed, tag:wood=deciduous and tag:wood=coniferous, but each of the tags should redirect to where you can find the descriptions. JOSM already have a function to link to the wiki for help on the preset keys, maybe a future version loads the pages from a wiki cache? Maybe other editors also have or are getting similar features?

Tag:historic=battlefield -> зона конфликта, поле боя, поле сражения.
Tag:shop=confectionary -> кондитерские изделия.
Tag:wood=coniferous/deciduous/mixed -> хвойный/лиственный/смешанный.

So... are you going to create pages for each castle_type=* (from historic=castle)? Can JOSM be modified so that, if it can't find Tag:key=value in the wiki, it'll look for Key:key?
Kommentar von Skippern am 10. Januar 2010 um 10:17 Uhr
I have mainly put #REDIRECT [[Key:key_name]] on tags I feel are explained in the key page, in that case it will find the same page no matter how it is set up. Though some keys such as source should be hardcoded to point directly to the key, no matter what value is put inside.
