Changeset When Comment

Hey there. I can't find a/the source for why I changed it. (I grant this was 7 years ago.)

What I DID find was yeah, your source, Pierce county GIS, that says Kitson. I'm going to change this one back.

You're right, that way should've been deleted when I consolidated and I missed it.

If I remember this correctly, I'd got most of it from the USGS maps, satellite photos, and in a couple rare cases, historical aerials to get the route, which in total was the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choctaw_Rocket .

(To further state where I'm at; I don't feel a strong need to have it 'at the state line' if signage shows differently. But if you do put it there, just make sure there's a note tag on it so that future mappers, possibly including me - or anyone else - knows why it's there!)

65858808 about 6 years ago

Legally I'm sure that's the case (and this being a new bridge, I probably just made that guess.) That said...especially if the other direction says the same thing, there's a strong case for making the position where you're indicating with the Mapillary photo.

If you do move it, I'd add a note to the node where the split is made, saying 'This is based on signage, not the state line.' Then the reasoning is understood/documented, and could be discussed further.

Reasonable! I made the change there.

It's more or less up to maven149. If he's done, it can go.

It looks like I probably just mistakenly added that, maybe intending a different key for that value. I'll remove it now. Thanks!

Hey there.

I was curious about this; I looked at the source link (which I'd never seen before), and it showed what looks like 'currently broken borders'? Is that an ongoing project that scans admin and other boundaries, and flags breakages?

57789098 over 7 years ago

It wasn't, as I'm sure your question was meant to imply. That said:

I've reverted this edit via changeset 57900660 and will not be reinstating the changes. I'll take discussion to the osm.wiki/Talk:Tag:denomination%3Dmormon wiki page (the tag for which a page exists).

Note was sent to this user about features they created that didn't exist. Friendly suggestion/warning asking them not to do so.

If you're talking about the (8) separated/source/tlid/upload_uuid, I can't say I've got a good explanation for those, and they're oddly both (grouped) and (the same flags on the same batch). I can restore them if need be.

The rest were purposeful, and usually involved correcting or removing one of two _# tags or moving them into the primary slot.

See osm.wiki/Key:name , where use of _# is discouraged/deprecated.

I don't see why not. It can even just be a different relation with a different name, with a destination of 'Red River of the North', that ends at the border, if that's where the name changes.

No problem! What was new here is that I put the district into a relation, osm.org/relation/6151649 , with consistent naming inside it. I think because I couldn't find any name (prob. on K&O's website) I went with the newest name I _could_ find, ATSF. By all means please change it back, though I suggest adding as 'source' or 'note' 'I got this from the current K&O timetable, district name is verified'. I'll leave it be in either event to do with as you see fit.

Max,

Hi there. I know I was doing a lot of routine work in this dataset over a fairly wide area. Can you state by name which town and hamlet this was? I'll check it out.

The criteria for this change was limited strictly to:
nhd:*=*
waterway=stream
stream=intermittent

...and no other unusual/outlying water related tags of any sort (landuse=*, place=*, water=*, etc.) which I will examine case by case.

intermittent=yes has clearly become favored over stream=intermittent which was pulled in by this import years ago. Updating appropriately.

The criteria for this change was limited strictly to:

source=CanVec_Import_2009
natural=water
type=lake

...and no other unusual/outlying water related tags of any sort (landuse=*, place=*, water=*, etc.) which I will examine case by case. If these objects had been imported in 2011 or later by which time the water=* tag was approved, they certainly would have been imported with it.

Fixed in osm.org/changeset/44811227 to use OSM compliant tags in all cases. My apologies.

Best,

Hello! You'll want to look further back in the history of the bus stop's changes and ask 'Niels Elgaard Larsen'. I was merely changing a bad tag, 'ref:rulan:addr' to 'ref'. The name itself was put there by that person. Hope this helps!
