If I broke connectivity with my edit, I humbly apologise and thank you for catching my mistake. As a frequent user of cycle routing sites, I would not intentionally break any routes unless it was actually broken on the ground.
Can I ask how you detected the breakage, so I can check my edits myself in future? I see in the changeset there are two deleted ways - is there any way to see where they were before deletion?

I agree that highway=path isn't the best solution here, but it was the least-wrong solution I could find to maintain the routing/relations. I intended to overlay a shared pedestrian area on that corner, but ran out of time, so I'll add that in now.

I definitely wanted to remove the highway=cycleway, as the cycleway does come to an abrupt end in the middle of the pavement and cyclists should avoid that shared-use corner as it is usually busy with pedestrians.
