I’m Guillaume Rischard, I like maps! I mostly map in Luxembourg and NYC, and like to do many small edits, slowly making things better.
I’ve been a member of the OpenStreetMap Foundation’s board since December 2019, and am also the chairman of the foundation’s board.
I’m a member of the Data Working Group, and sometimes use the account Stereo_repair for heavy work there.
I’m also a member of the Membership Working Group, where Steve Friedl and I co-wrote the “Investigation into the Unusual Signups” report. We were delighted and honoured to receive the 2019 OpenStreetMap Influential Writing Award for it.
I help maintain the Editor Layer Index.
You can message me in English, French, German or Luxembourgish.

Talks I’ve given:
- Pilgerstab in einer Hand, Brecheisen in der anderen: wie man Geodaten öffnet (in German) at FOSSGIS Freiburg in 2020. I’m sorry the sound is so bad, and have added subtitles.
- Lightning talk: Quickly mapping bus lines with routing tools at SotM Heidelberg in 2019
- How OpenStreetMap became the best map of Kosovo, with Besfort Guri, at OSCAL in Tirana in 2019
- Flying ferries and moving pavements? Pedestrian routing on rare modes of transport at SotM Milan in 2018
