Why not. I enjoy reading the diary. I learn from other mappers methods knowledge and share some of my mapping ideas. I think it is good to hear about other mappers experiences.
diary feature looks like a blog for mapper wrote and share something interest and useful, such as meetup record, coding and map related technology, etc.
