hmmm yes, a mcdonalds on an ice shelf and inside a forest. Very legit. I will revert this changeset.

I'm curious how many messages you just woke up to., because wow thats a lot of comments. This vandal really seems to have nothing better to do than vandalising the map and bothering people.

Lijkt mij helemaal correct. Je kan duidelijk de opening in het hek zien en dat voetgangers er langs kunnen.

Alright thank you.

There is also another beacon on the island that you might be interested in if you arent aware of it already. "Kaap Willemsduin" found here:
osm.org/node/4300211322

(And if you are on the island, I highly recommend hiking there. The view is amazing)

A spam account it seems. They typically have zero changesets and leave random messages on other peoples changesets. Usually to sell something.

I clicked one of the links and its just "watch shis movie thats just out here for free, just click the shady link" I will report the person.

They're already banned and the DWG is in the process of reverting.

First changeset to better map the saltmarshes, tidalflats, coastline, creeks, etc in the Solway Firth. More to come.

Hallo HeinV,

Groeten,
Taya

Hello Pete,

I was curious why these bridleways are tagged with both highway and disused:highway instead of just disused:highway? Because it seems weird to me to map them as highway when they dont physically exist.

Is this a convention in the UK for public right of way paths?

Sincerely,
Taya

Hi Hadtune,

I was wondering what prompted these edits and what exactly you mean by: "To export as geometry, 'type=*' must be set to "boundary" or 'multipolygon'."?

Sincerely,
Taya

Hello again. After no response for a month and asking others for their thoughts I have deleted this trail as it does not exist.

138524094 about 2 years ago

This appears to be vandalism as it just removes someones effort to map the new flow of the river.

If we're talking area wise: It really depends. Personally I'd just try to avoid big land areas and especially major cities in this case. If its just above the ocean the changeset size is a lot less relevant.

if we're talking node wise: A lot of imports can have excessive amounts of nodes due to the way they handle things like curves. So reducing the amounts can be benificial. I think that could also be the case here. I tried simplifying a few area's you added (shift+y in josm) and could reduce the amount of nodes by 50% (by selecting 0.5m) and it didnt really make much of a visual impact unless I zoomed in as much as possible.

I also noticed you had a few pixellated areas. Might be worth looking in to.

Hello Josail,

Thanks for the response.

I do believe that having this data could be beneficial to others and to prevent accidental damage to the seabeds. So having this data would be good.

The problem I still see however is that the CC BY 4.0 international license has some compatibility issues with the ODbL license OSM uses.
See: https://blog.openstreetmap.org/2017/03/17/use-of-cc-by-data/
That blog post also contains a link to a waiver document that can be used to ask the authors for express permission.

A further problem I see is that imports have very specific guidelines that must be followed.
See this page: osm.wiki/Import/Guidelines
This is to allow other users to chime in with regards to how they feel about this import, to asses the quality, how this import should be done and other things like that. I could not find any discussion about this import in the community forums nor in the import catalogue wiki page.

Sincerely,
Taya

Na iets verder kijken lijkt het er op dat de routerelaties ook kapot zijn nu. Heb hier een forum post voor gemaakt. https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/railway-relationships-kapot/100419
