Tool for calculating the length of an openstreetmap-way
ߊ߬ ߟߊߦߟߍ߬ߣߍ߲߬ ߦߋ߫ Toliman ߓߟߏ߫ 20 December 2013 ߦߋ߫ English ߟߋ߬ ߘߐ߫Is there a tool, with which I can get the length of a certain way of openstreetmap? The tool should be so made, that one has just to enter the URL of the way and than get its length.

Yes, JOSM is able to display the length of selected ways. Just use the selection tool (Key “S”) and select the way. In the status line of JOSM you see a little ruler which displays the total length of all selected ways.
If the way consists of more than one part just multi select all ways using the ctrl-Key and mouse click. The length will be summed up.

The tool that a_peter describes requires the “measurement” plugin. Install it by going to edit -> preferences -> plugins.

Oh thats great, thank you for remembering this plugin, and thanks to the plugin authors for writing. I missed such a tool in JOSM.
