Area of visibilty of astronomical events on Openstreetmap
Plasing deur Toliman op 6 Julie 2022 in German (Deutsch). In my opinion, one should add to Openstreetmap functions to display the visibilty of astronomical events, like Solar eclipses. Corresponding ideas should be made at osm.wiki/Astronomical_events

Hi! Although being a fan of astronomy, I think OSM is not the proper place for such things. Where would you start and where would you end? Let’s keep things on the ground, as there is good opensource software out there to handle astronomic things.

This probably shouldn’t be on
openstreetmap.org
the website (IMO). But a goal of OpenStreetMap the project is to make it easy for people to make maps, so other websites can show such events, and use OSM on their website,Kommentaar van Harald Hartmann op 7 Julie 2022 om 16:58
Astronomical events are just layers onto a map and in my opinion hasn’t anything to do with the map itself. There are a few maps out there, e.g. https://www.timeanddate.de/finsternis/karte/2022-oktober-25 or https://www.sonnenverlauf.de/#/40.1789,-3.5156,3/2022.07.07/22:47/1/0 and so on.
