Rivers in Palawan not showing on main map
ایہہ 17؍December 2012ء English وچ «Totor» لیکھ چھپیا گیا سی۔Hi all,
I added some rivers in Palawan (Philippines), but they dont seem to be rendered on the standard osm map. It seems all rivers (even older ones, still visible at low zoom levels) are disappearing on the latest rendered tiles in Palawan (so it does not seem to be a “be patient” problem). Other islands are not affected, so I guess something must be wrong with the island. I cant find any problem though. Other styles (cycle map for instance) seem to render the rivers correctly. New highways also render correctly. Is there something special about waterway rendering?
See a lonely bridge here : osm.org/go/4nWoQT~g
Anybody has an explanation ? Where to get help?

Disregard my comment. My speed reading missed that part of your post. :-)

The other layers are usually slower updated - so this situation may occur if the rivers were okay before, but are broken currently. However, I cannot find the source of the problem here. Are you sure that the mapnik (“standard”) tiles are fresh? E.g. the bridge was created months before the river.
By the way: your question would have been better suited for our help centre.

The problem was apparently caused by relation 1552282, a multipoligon relation for Palawan island. The outer ways were in the wrong order (not forming a continuous loop). I fixed that and now rivers begin to show again on the standard map. However, I don’t understand what this relation is supposed to be used for. The island coastline is already defined by the coastline ways alone, no multipoligon relation needed for that.

hmm, apparently the rivers are now being rendered, but only for zoom 11. No idea what the problemfor the higher zoom levels is.

Thanks for your comments. @aseerel4c26 : Yes, the tiles are fresh, I checked with the /status, and forced update with the /dirty on a few tiles. Thanks for the Link to the Help Center. @lyx: I tried to fix that relation by moving some segments to avoid a gap (Maybe I missed some ?). I Noticed that the whole sequence is clockwise. Could that be a problem ? Is there a tool to reverse the member list? (I dont want to move them 1 by 1 is possible…) I guess the purpose of this relation is to avoid having the island name on every section of coastline, and to simplify the Palawan (boundary) relation 1506669 by including the whole “island relation” instead of the individual sections. (But this seems to have been modified just now)
