And to answer the only question you seem to care about: I do agree that some places could be downgraded from place=suburb to place=quarter or place=neighbourhood. They have devided the city into 'bydeler' for administrative purposes. The guidelines on the wiki page that I linked to, explicitly state that place=suburb is not the same as the administrative subdivision 'bydel'. The 'delbydeler' are used for statistical purposes. The names of the 'delbydeler' are just labels, not real place names. The 'delbydel' of Skullerud, for instance, is much larger than both the present day suburb of Skullerud and the land that originally belonged to the farm that has given name to the suburb. Another example is Bispevika. It's the bay east of the outlet of Akerselva. Nobody would consider the islands nor Gamlebyen as being part of Bispevika. When I looked at them in more detail I saw that, regretfully, a lot of the changes you've done to the Oslo map over the last day or two can only be described as pure vandalism. One thing is that you've made a mess of the hierarchy. It's a lot worse that you've moved nodes that had been carefully placed in the correct spot In a few hours you destroyed a lt of hard work done by other mappers. |
