Mapping in the least populated area in Germany
Publicadu dae Uckermarker su 9 ghennàrgiu 2016 in English.I recently started mapping in the Uckermark, a historical region in northeastern Germany. Although this region is only about 100 km away from our capital Berlin, it is considered the least populated area in Germany with only 121,326 people living in an area of 3,058 km². This makes it really difficult to find other mappers nearby and improve the overall mapping status.
Since this region is also famous for tourists, I first started adding tourist attractions, hotels and parking places. I had to find out that not even the tourist information was mapped. However, over the time I realized that there is so much more to do. Hence I created a wiki page for the district Uckermark.
Now I want to send out the message to everybody, but especially to people nearby. Please help out to make this region more usable on OSM. I am also interested in regular meetings with other locals, so please contact me!
I hope that other people will read this and help out improving the data. Thank you for reading and sharing :-)

Ja in der Tat ist alles sehr dünn hier. Habe auch schon sehr viele Leute angeschrieben, aber bisher habe ich nicht eine Antwort erhalten. Mal schauen, was noch so kommt…

Hello,
There are quite a lot of German Wikipedia articles with geolocations around Prenzlau. You can see them with this tool: http://ausleuchtung.ch/geo_wiki/?lat=53.326075013468575&lng=13.85101318359375&zm=12&lang=de&ds=wiki&rd=10
At the same time not so many OSM tags wikipedia=de:, wikimedia_commons=Category:, wikimedia_commons=File:, wikidata= http://ausleuchtung.ch/geo_wiki/?lat=53.306139203637244&lng=13.854961395263672&zm=14&lang=de&ds=osm&rd=10
There is a link to a Wikipedia or a Wikimedia resource at the marker. And if there is no photo in a Wikipedia article, it is possible to add one.
For example, I usually add an OSM tag, and also make a ground and an aerial image for an article. Here are some examples: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schloss_Grandson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Wilsdorf_Bridge
I wrote this tool http://ausleuchtung.ch/geo_wiki/ o locate Wikipedia and Wikimedia resources for planning mapping and Wikipedia photogrpahy expeditions. It is a way to promote tourism in a region.

Thank you Alex for your tool. I added lots of wikipedia links to villages near Schwedt. :-)
