Hello, I'd like to point you to the local tagging guide for Canada and the guideline for abbreviations in OSM.
The "St. " in St. John's in fact correct and not to be expanded.

osm.wiki/Canada/Tagging_guidelines#Municipality_Names

osm.wiki/Abbreviations#Canada

Could you please revert this?

It's up to you, I have no strong feelings either way.

>What was the point of that?
This area is covered in grass. I hindsight, the appropriate tag would be surface=grass but this was from a time when I was new to OSM.

>why this area looks different than all other areas
I didn't want to commit to adding this level of detail to the entire city. I was using it like a personal testing ground for different tags and methods.

Just a note that the realigned Greenbank road has not even completed the design phase and will not start construction for another 6 years.

If this turns out awful, go ahead and revert this

I've also only added this tag to the portables for the Ottawa public school board. Feel free to help with the other boards or other districts.

Thanks. It's been a long standing issue for me because they aren't really sheds, and they aren't really schools, so it didn't seem like they had an appropriate tag for their use. I also figured that most people (at least in this part of the world) call them "portables" but `building=portable` felt a little too vague. I opted for `portable_classroom` because it's very specific and there is little ambiguity.

I find using this method to be easier to edit afterward.
osm.wiki/Lifecycle_prefix
The construction is mostly done in this area, so it was as simple as removing the "construction:" prefix.

I tried to update this in OsmAnd, but they don't support modifying tags on polygons.
Maps.me was a little too user friendly and didn't allow me to change the "category" from pet shop. Apparently you can only add the `name:en` tag instead of changing the `name` value.
This is currently the physio clinic if you don't mind changing it.

Will do. Was just getting them in quick and am going to split the footprint and merge them. Currently out on the road but will have time in the afternoon.

Maybe I got a little too focused on it being an enclosed walkway, like a tunnel. Corrected now.

I'll have to agree with you. I was mimicking the tagging for proposed roads and road/buildings under construction . I believe the`proposed:building` style is part of the lifecycle tagging scheme(?). If so, then that's a good recommendation. Also easier to remove the 'proposed:' once they have been constructed.

One of the ways in the relation was actually for the other Eglin AFB relation, I believe it was near Shalimar Elementary school. I removed it and added a proper connected way.
Keep up the good work with the building footprints, looks great!

That's possible. I was basing this off the imagery and the only available POI within that area.
It seemed like there was a house in the middle of this area, but the fence along the left threw me off.
I am not familiar with the area so if you, or anyone, has a better recommendation I suggest going with that instead of my edit.

Accidentally clicked "request review edit"
No need to actually review this.

Might have been from JOSM automatically extending the existing way when adding a new way that connects to it. Thanks for fixing it.

I've changed the tags to the correct ones. Thank you for the help.

50928516 almost 8 years ago

Honestly, no idea how that even happened. I believe I've corrected it. Thanks for pointing that out.

My apologies. I had originally intended to remove these tags but they made it easier for filtering. The value of these tags is their full, proper legal name so they may be useful.
The 'namleg_en' tag is the same as the 'name' tag with the addition of "Township of" or "County of". I figured the used of 'admin_level=8' identified them as townships so the tag was no longer needed. Are those tags you suggested commonly used?
I'm currently away but will fix these issues when I return home.

DBH is Diameter at Breast Height.
It was part of an ongoing discussion on the import mailing list and has since been converted to circumference.
These nodes will be deleted and replaced with the proper ones.
