The KFC closed its doors in late 2020. In its place stands a Mexican restaurant. Haven't been by the northern part of town recently, but it's something to take note of now.

The tag near the building does not make sense. The original Ellis County Rural Fire Department, Company 5 shed was to the north, closer to the alley where Nate's Liquor and the former building was. The building where the tag is now is a private garage, and the old RFD is not in use anymore, as the county vacated it within the past decade to and sold it to a pest control company (which I think is still in service, not sure). The proper tag (which was updated a long time ago at 1105 E. 22nd St) for the RFD 5 is on the corner of General Hays Road and 22nd Street.
