Hi there fellow Rhode Islander and welcome to OpenStreetMap!

We encourage you to join the discussion with fellow US mappers in the OpenStreetMap US Slack (https://slack.openstreetmap.us/), especially the channels #tagging and #local-rhode-island . Hope to chat with you there!

We discussed the change you made to Route 4 / Route 1 and concluded that the stretch south of Oak Hill road should be tagged as highway=trunk based on the presence of at-grade intersections, traffic lights, and driveways which make this road incompatible with highway=motorway.

See the Slack discussion here:(https://osmus.slack.com/archives/C2VJAJCS0/p1611623166062800)

Regards,
Brian (ZeLonewolf)

It's your call, it just came up in my list of new administrative boundaries and it didn't look right compared to other entities tagged admin_level=8 in Canada.

Hello, this boundary is a fragment and appears to be an error.

98039841 over 4 years ago

Is it correct that Old Town and Ndilo are both admin_level=8 and not simply neighborhoods of Yellowknife?

Thank you!

Thanks for fixing a broken boundary, do you maintain a list of boundary problems somewhere?

way 296770514 is named "United States of America (Minor Outlying Islands);Kingman Reef". It is the sole member of relation 7248457 named "Kingman Reef" and also a member of relation 2185386 named "United States Minor Outlying Islands".

Based on these relations being established, I think there is no need for a name on way 296770514 and other UMOI like it. This has the bonus of eliminating a JOSM finding (multiple name values, separated by a semi-colon). If UMOI needs to be indicated here, I would recommend that the semi-colon be converted to a comma.

Hello, please be aware that this change broke a boundary relation (osm.org/relation/5991859#map=17/-32.93421/151.76153), I will attempt to fix it.

Yes, I am working directly with the Maine mapping community on this effort. Extensive discussion on #local-maine in US Slack and also menioned with respect to correct admin_level on the talk-maine-us mailing list.

¿Esto parece más un estanque de relaves y no un depósito de evaporación?

reservoir_type=tailings ?

Hi, this change broke the Fishers, IN boundary (and possibly another) because it deleted osm.org/way/34086269

I was able to restore that section of the boundary, please check that area to make sure it all looks correct.

Cuando miré hace unos minutos, parecían coincidir con las imágenes de satélite 👍

55499581 over 4 years ago

¿Qué estanques estás mirando? Hay varias secciones.

Gracias por aclarar, ¿entonces los demás siguen siendo agua salada pero no salt_pond?

55499581 over 4 years ago

Done!

Hola!

Hello! It seems unnecessary to tag this group of salt ponds with water=reservoir and reservoir_type=evaporation. These tags are normally used with natural=water. Since you have tagged landuse=salt_pond, I suggest that water=reservoir and reservoir_type=evaporation can be removed.

Hi - this reservoir, you have it tagged as an evaporation reservoir, but from the imagery it looks more like an infiltration basin. Can you confirm?

No problem. Boundaries are pretty tricky to do in iD. The validation for them isn't great and it's easy to end up with a gap. Feel free to reach out if you ever need any help with boundary work.

Also, feel free to join us on the OSM US Slack, https://slack.openstreetmap.us/ channel #local-colorado

Hi, this changeset has broken the St Louis Park city boundary
