Translating some more...

Hi

I noticed on other of the danish translation pages that Da: is preferred to Dk: in the wiki page prefix.

Not realy sure why, but it seems so.

Swedish west coast 11

Hi
With a headline like this I could not resist recommending to take a look at http://tile.openstreetmap.nl/coastlines.html?zoom=10&lat=57.79474&lon=11.74438&layers=B00T
as the seems to be some CoastLine errors on the "Swedish west coats" and specifically in the area that it seems that you are mapping at.

Happy mapping in the new year aswell ;-)

Search and error QA tests for Denmark

Fint tool, der var flere af de listede veje som jeg har haft fat i, så dem har jeg justeret.
Indtil du får dynamisk læsning fra databasen/api vil det være super med angivelse af dato for den anvendte osm fil.

Geo caching

I am using OSM maps for geocaching, but I have to admit that I dont need the OSM map in my Garmin GPS for the geocaching, but rather for using un mapped roads when going to the cache location.

Besides the OSM maps I also load other free maps of smaller local areas when available.

I would like to ask

Take a look at http://www.fizzymagic.net/Geocaching/FizzyCalc/
a very nice tool for coordinat transformation

Incorrect rendering of sea/land

Hi you are probably right (and it seems somebody has fixed it) but could you explain how you conclude "this looks like the coastline on the southern side might be broken" ?
There is a lot of coast line and how can i figure out where it is broken ?
Just so I will be able to fix it next time I see something like this ?

Incorrect rendering of sea/land

Corrected the Link

How to close an accout ?

Well it is not a big issue, and thts why I have not done anything about it before now. Today I noticed the on my profile page the ten nearest fellow mappers are displayet, and this account (which I have forgotten the password for) is one of the ten so I would like to get rid of it.

Beginner

How do you then unglue them later ?

I know how to do it with JOSM, but it would be nice to be able to do that in Potlach aswell.

Beginner

I think a JOSM way of doing this is described at osm.org/user/HannesHH/diary/3393#comments but I am not sure whetherthis is the right thing to do.

Could you please give a link to the this attachment thing is menthioned/discussed ?

Node gluttony for areas

Have you tried to validate the above with the JOSM validation plugin ?
My experience is the the validator will flag this with a warning about overlapping highway and area. If this is the correct way of mapping these cases, I would suggest that the validation plugin is changed.

Navigating on OSM

I think you will be able to verify the routability of your changes a little faster

My experience it that I can check my changes with one days delay by the following procedure:

Use wget http://download.geofabrik.de/osm/europe/denmark.osm.bz2 to get the proper data.
Use java -Xmx512M -jar "mkgmap-r630\mkgmap.jar" to create a proper IMG file
Use GPSMapEdit from http://www.geopainting.com/en/ to build and verify routing
First thing to do in GPSMapEdit is to build the Routing list with
"Tools->Genrate Routing Graph -> Using Coinciding Nodes of Polylines"
And finally the "Test Routing Graph".

Who is adding administrative boundaries ?

Hmmm that would mean there is no way to know what was the intention with the changes, and in worst case we can be changing it back and forth until one resigns.

I am using the potlatch editor, and has only shortly looked at JOSM, but it
seems that even with JOSM a login is required to upload changes, or ?

How is it possible to upload ways without being properly registered ?

I thought that it was some kind of automated import of data from a license free
data set (could be that the was a free definition of the german borders), I have
read that this kind of import have been used in other cases. How can such imported data be recognised ?

Who is adding administrative boundaries ?

And this someone is then putting incorrect administrative boundaries on roads and costlines in the mittle of denmark ?
Well it can be true ! but couldnt it be some kind of automated import that is "out of control" ?

Waypoints instead of Track

Well i can see the problem in edit mode where you see a very thick black track of all the green waypoint dots.

Use of OSM Data

And for the lazy type like me, download the needed map from http://www.asmweb.de/OpenStreetMap/Europe/index.html
and use the img2gps program downloadable from
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/mdipol/img2gps/
to transfer it to a Garmin GPS.

Stueck Strasse entfernen

If you are using Potlatch then take a look at osm.wiki/index.php/Potlatch/Keyboard_shortcuts
and you will notice that if you press 'x' while a point on a line is selected the line will be split in two, and if you press shift-delete while a line is selected it will be deleted.

I dont know anything about how to do it with JOSM.

Vandalismus/Dilettantismus in Gießen

The last line on this page

osm.wiki/index.php/Potlatch/Keyboard_shortcuts

menthions the undelete function, but have actually never used it myself
so it is wery helpfull to follow the diaries to see how others are working.

Failing to revert to version 1 of a lake

Nice answers thanks.

The trick menthioned by Deelkar worked for me too.

Strange

I have seen the same a couple of times, with various different error messages, and I just resubmit them, and second time they are accepted.
