I’m adding to it all the time. I’d love to hear from you.

Map of Belarus lined with boulders

The idea of the museum is interesting - a map of Belarus is laid out on a huge territory with boulders and smaller stones. Groups of boulders indicate cities and major settlements of the republic, and paths mark the main transportation arteries.

@solenoid jam, Thank you, but I’m sorry.
People in other countries don’t know exactly what the Belarusian landmass looks like.
Therefore, unless the terrain is identified, it is difficult to know what it represents.

adreamy Hmmm, in which case ignorance is a selection criterion? If I were to make such a selection, it would not include the Phillipines and Scotland, as I have no idea of the geography of those territories. I think that would be weird =)

Anyway, thanks for the compilation.

@solenoid jam, I’m sorry.
There are no special criteria here. However, it should be clearly distinguished on the surface so that even those who do not know the place will be able to identify it.
Whether it is divided into water and land like other places, or it is identified as a ‘relationship’ in OSM…
However, the place you told me is not identified as a ‘feature’, and even looking at the satellite map, it is not distinguishable.
(Nevertheless, Belarusians will recognize it.)

I just found out that there’s a France within France. Not the easiest to identify on the map, but it is discernable on OSM and the timing of the video release was too close to ignore.

The sensible zoom level has it on a tile boundary unfortunately so it’s not easy to show in a comment.

There’s a miniature of the Cape Verde Islands in Buracona, Sal island, Cape Verde. The actual miniature island shapes are not yet mapped, but they can be seen in Bing’s aerial imagery.
