Flew up to Dashoguz on the 6:30 a.m. flight, spent most of the day on official business, and at the end of the day, took a half hour to collect street names in an unfamiliar section of town. Used Pocket Earth as it is the easiest smartphone tool for rapid collection of house numbers, street names, and POIs. Just finished uploading the fresh data and am ready to end a long day.

Do you have a automatisized way to get Pocker Earth markers into OSM? I would like it, merged with “Go Map!!”

No, I don’t. I export the GPX file by e-mail and download the attachment to my desktop PC, then upload the GPX file to OSM using the “Upload Traces” wizard and edit manually. My approach is 100% manual, not automated at all.

Did you tried OSMTracker ? Good tools for Android device to collect street names & house numbers.

Marych, no, I haven’t tried OSMTracker. Would you recommend it? I have a couple of Android devices but typically move around with one of them (the Samsung Galaxy phone) running Mapillary to capture imagery, and the other is a Samsung Galaxy tablet that would require more attention (and a much bigger pocket!) than my iPhone running Pocket Earth. Is there a particular advantage to OSMTracker over Pocket Earth for casual address and POI collection?

Yes, I recommend OSMTracer. Using OSMTracker, you may make a -photo -voice note -a lot of other
After track export, you may open gpx track in JOSM & see your notes on track.
BUT, you use ID. :-)

Yes, I do! It is so much easier to master than JOSM…
