From December 23, 2019, to December 11, 2021, chairperson of the OSM Foundation board of directors. Currently one of five moderators of the osmf-talk and talk mailing lists as well as the general, general:tagging, and foundation channels of the community forum on Discourse, and a member of the OSMF Budget and Fundraising Committee.

I am also on the board of directors of American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras, a Virginia-based non-profit devoted to music education.

I am a retired U.S. diplomat previously assigned to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, for 4-1/2 years. Equipment includes RealMe 8 5G and Samsung Galaxy (both Android) with Mapillary and Organic Maps for mass collection of ground-level imagery and data; GoPro Hero 7 Black with 256Gb SD card; Garmin nüvi; and a Wintel desktop PC platform that includes Igor Brejc’s Maperitive program for generating both wall maps and street atlases. I also have a collection of Soviet-era military maps of Turkmenistan for researching municipalities, route numbers, and topographic features. SOTM 2019 voted me the Greatness in Mapping award for that year.
