Noth end these days is just a track and southern end the access to the hotel and golf course along with the upmarket houses they built more recently either side of the road. I agree its more residential than unclassified these days. Cheers Andy

The tagging format probably dates back to 2012 when I did the import for Phase 1 and the translation from the government data to OSM tags wasn't as mature as it would be today. Anyway, feel free to adjust though note none of the HS2 route sections are in build currently through the start of construction for Phase 1 is imminent. The relation reference for each phase in case you need them are on the wiki at osm.wiki/High_Speed_2

They stem back to a time 12 or more years ago when I was looking to create a new version of the tagging schema which I didnt take further. Some of these tags may have some relevance but certainly they could be reviewed and updated or deleted as required
