I wanted to edit the stream that you suggested should be upstream to downstream, but when I used the link that you sent me osm.org/way/333398283#map=15/53.8106/-2.2919&layers=N I got a completely different view of it, compared to when I first made the edit. At this point I am confused and am unable to proceed any further.

Thanks mcld, I did see that you had made some edits, but when I went into your profile I couldn’t find the ones relating to Higham.

All this sounds extraordinarily interesting and useful, but as a new member of openstreetmap, much of it is completely beyond me. Perhaps you could add some links to other resources for further information please.
