Ha, it's not far off; I've fixed the exact location and added metadata.

Yes, they've definitely got a turbine in their garden; I'd say they're using it and solar panels for a heat pump - it's not one of the massive white ones; but it's bigger than the house.

Thanks Daniel, I've tagged it as a throwline as above for now - I'll take a look at it in closer detail next time I'm nearby

No, because I don't know it. The house has a number. It's not clear on the ground if it's on the square or on Church Avenue; I feel it's better to include what information is available rather than omitting what is known because of some guidance which, while maybe is written with the best intentions, isn't real world useful all the time. Thanks for fixing the typo, that was my error :)

Perhaps you should tell the person who made the change? All I've done is remove the relation to the e-road number as this has shifted to the new road.

They looked open to me when I drove round the site to survey what was open and what was not; however, perhaps the cones were removed and put back, or perhaps I misremembered, who knows. I've also been reverting enthusiastic pre-opening of sections over the last weeks, so appreciate that it's really annoying. Anyway, with regard to these, certainly if there's more recent closure details on facebook then by all means go with that.

ola, estuve en Montefrío durante tres semanas de vacaciones. Pasé mucho tiempo caminando por los senderos y las pistas con mi perro. Comparo mis notas y fotografías con imágenes satelitales OSM.

It was a numbered crossroads,not really a motorway_junction...

Hello,

I've always tagged roundabout approaches as junction=approach - I must have picked it up from somewhere. Looking at taginfo, there's about 1760 ways tagged as such all over Europe: https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/junction=approach#map although I appreciate that it doesn't appearto be documented - although very little was at the beginning when stuff just sort of evolved.

The approaches themselves are pretty standard approaches to roundabouts in England, i.e. there is typically a raised centre triangular island, for a few meters in length where the carriageway flares and separates from the centre. It is not an area. I'd always assumed junction=approach was used as a shorthand to prevent navigation software deciding that a U turn at the gore was acceptable, without needing to actually specify it as such.

I'm not really bothered one way or another as to whether it remains as being a tag or not; whether it is relevant depends on whether it is useful to renderers or to navigation software. However, with the advent of mass aerial imagery and critical mass, I'm not as involved in OSM mapping as I was years ago when GPS traces were needed, although still add the occasional POI/correction so am active in that regard.

I'd suggest asking for a ruling from the powers that be. It'd presumably be easy to strip the lot from the database programatically if they weren't required/of use.

Cheers
Chris

I've reverted your edits, because the road is far from complete - there's a giant hole where the road will be, and the road closure signs are all still in place.

Interesting, It's not Spittals to New Ellington though, it's New Ellington to Brampton Hut - are they detrunking this short section also, which means therefore any A14 E to A1 N traffic will need to go on the local road network, or are they cointuning to maintain this themselves? Who knows. That said, it's not clear therefore that this section would be the A141, even assuming Brampton Hut to Spittals will be

I've reverted the bits that GinaroZ missed.

I've reverted your "upgrade" of Dunmow Road, The Street, and Rayne Road through Rayne to B1256 - no evidence to support that this was ever the B1256.

68557618 about 6 years ago

Is there any evidence for this bit of dual carriageway being the A141 rather than a spur of the A14?

I've removed this as part of a removal of Greyseal18's fantasy A45 junction numbering scheme.

I've reverted the changes you made in July regarding the re-routing of B roads in Ely - I've driven through several times since and these numbers aren't on the signs, nor are they on Cambridgeshire's definitive map. What's your source therefore, or is this just more fantasy nonsense?

19729755 almost 7 years ago

cheers, yes, that looks like an error on my part.

56524695 almost 7 years ago

Unless anyone has free evidence or has seen signs indicating that the length of the road north of Scotch Corner is the A6055,it needs to be reverted, as it could quite easily be a copyright trap by the AA. South of here I believe it is.

62602170 almost 7 years ago

I've removed this as it is a fantasy road added by the user - a link here is at the pre-planning consultation stage.
