Changeset When Comment

Yes, the ambiguity here is, that Wikipedia articles are less strict than OpenStreetMap objects and Wikidata items.

So you might interpret it as an article about a tree with a focus on the tree sitting – that made it notable, or you might see it as an article about a tree sitting of a tree.
Here therefore depending on the reading of the article either subject:wikipedia or wikipedia would be the correct choice.

I think both the event of the sitting and the tree itself would be notable enough for Wikidata, so I'll create another item for it, to better distinguish there. (This won't change the Wikipedia article of course.)

"like you say it's not really about the tree per se"?
Actually I said quiet the opposite.
The wikipedia article is _only_ about this specific tree. There is only one tree named Luna, that is about 1000 years old, is about 200 feet tall and had a tree sitting. This is exactly about this feature, and the wiki leaves no doubt there that here wikipedia/wikidata are the most appropriate tags.

"So, if your against it to the point where you think it should be used, you should post about it on the Wiki/mailing list so it's not suggested anymore."
I was already thinking about this, yet it does not apply here, as the Wikipedia is not about trees in general or things named Luna in general, but only about one tree near Stafford.

"Also, usually it's better if there is a disagreement about over tagging to wait until both sides come to an agreed on solution before re-tagging the object."
Sorry, I misinterpreted the situation. I should have waited, you are right.

In this specific case both are wrong, as the Wikipedia article and the Wikidata item describe this specific tree and not the name of the tree. (Even though the article starts with the word name, it does not actually describe the name Luna per se.)

I have change that in osm.org/changeset/85668050.

If something is described specifically, the wikidata and wikipedia tags should be used.

How to read prefixed keys for wikidata:
wikidata=* means the item for the object.
brand:wikidata=* means the item for the brand of the object
name:etymology:wikidata=* means the item of the origin (etymology) of the name of the object

name:wikipedia and name:wikidata are ambigous. Do they describe the name? In most cases name:etymology=* + name:etymology:wikidata=* and maybe name:etymology:wikipedia=* are better, since often they are used to describe, that some bridge is named after Kennedy or a street after Martin Luther King etc.
Since we have name:etymology=Martin Luther King then, name:etymology:wikidata=Q8027 is more accurate.

Did this explain something?

Sorry,
it's definitely not a species. After looking into it: It's about a specif tree. The wikidata tag was correct, the way it was before.

Hey,
name:wiki(data|pedia) are not common tags in OSM. You mean species:wikidata?

Hey,
osm.org/way/390331698 did you maybe mean name:etymology:wikidata=Q12747527?

FYI: changeset comment is wrong. Should have been:
fix Reinbeker Weg in between both parts of the Luisen-Gymnasium + MP for Luisen-Gymnasium

Hey,
was möchtest Du mit dem wikidata-Tag ausdrücken? Das ist keine Wikidata-ID, es gibt auch keinen WP-Artikel dazu.

Pardon, of course I meant the wikipedia:sl link.

85299248 about 5 years ago

Hey,
why have you deleted the link to https://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q2803448? It is not a “Street update” as your changeset comment suggests. It looks as if the Wikidata item matches. If not the wikipedia:sv should be wrong.

Hey,
you have change Penbeagle into a pizzeria. I assumed, you meant to add just the restaurant and leave Penbeagle as is.
I have reverted your changeset therefore in osm.org/changeset/85304629. But no worry, I have added you added the restaurant again. Now it is osm.org/node/7526291265.
Thank You for trying to make the map a better one.

Hey,
was führt zu der Nase von Mitte-West in Nord-West? Die finde ich auf anderen Karten nicht.

Hey,
why had you removed osm.org/way/334108485 here?

Thanks!
The item referred to both the settlement and the ward — happens a lot in Wikidata, but should be split into two items.
If done that now. https://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q7193632 is the ward and the new https://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q94531777 is the village.
Since the ward is not in OSM, I cannot add it, but with osm.org/changeset/85274966 I have added the new correct link to the village.
Indeed, you find both names for it https://www.tcra.go.tz/postcodes/1#page=41 refers to both — the village and the ward — with Oldeani.

Hello,
why did you do this? Wikipedia tags should be preferred over wikipedia:[lang] tags.

Hey,
could you please have a look at osm.org/node/7216006030? You have mapped trees at places, where you also have mapped buildings. How is this possible?

Hey,
why did you remove the link to https://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q7193632? Doesn't it the settlement match this village?

85030230 about 5 years ago

Hey,
Did you mean to delete the reference to https://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q30021879?
I don't see, why it should not match.
