OpenStreetMap
I am a big believer in keeping public data accessible and non-proprietary. Especially mapping data.
I have a (now seemingly dead) TomTom GO 720 and an iPhone. I am thinking of buying the upcoming TomTom hadware/software for the iPhone to replace the 720.

Have you seen offmaps or other similar iPhone software for the iPhone. Search for OpenStreetMap on the app store.

Yep, I got a copy of OffMaps. The address search seems to fail a lot, but I like the general idea!
