səl̓ilw̓ət is the first nations name for Indian Arm. It is being more and more recognized locally and I think it would be appropriate to list it beside Indian Arm, perhaps in this way: səl̓ilw̓ət/Indian Arm

Traditional Territory: The marine area of səl̓ilw̓ət lies within the traditional territory of the Tsleil-Waututh, Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) peoples.

The First Nations name for the area is Hwlhitsum.

The Brunswick Cannery was located on Canoe Pass and the trail was named after the cannery.

The preferred name is Canoe Pass Trail.

This is a little rocky island - named Turtle Island because it looks just like a turtle. At low tide you can walk out to the island on the tombolo.
