Map editing

Publicado por cybercrypt o 27 de Setembro de 2009 en English.

I do wonder if some users who are editing the map in this area, have local knowledge?

I made a comment a few days ago about using the ABS data to mark rivers and roads and my concern that checking of the data was not being done.. ie checking that the ABS boundary is in fact following a river and not a road? and I agree with fellow mappers that using ABS for rivers is super handy.

Well today I notice a correction I made a few days ago was undone.. and worse now the ABS boundaries are mislabeled.. I won't bother fixing..

My rant is about, NOT checking the effect of changes.. and a warning about using ABS data for roads.. Is it not better to have GPS survey and local knowledge?

It's currently being debated on the talk-au list about what ABS boundaries should and shouldn't be used for, yes GPS/local knowledge in most cases is better.

I've been working on postcode boundaries over the last week or so, hopefully it wasn't the boundaries I've been tweaking broke what you did, in any case can you point out which ones have broken so I can investigate further.

There seems to be some bot breaking up ways longer than 2000 nodes and doing screwy things.
