Fortunate to live in USGS Urban Area territory

Been tracing out the details of Fremont (California) Central Park, in JOSM, from Terraserver USGS Urban Area orthophotography. I'll still have to go over there and validate some of the features, but this saves a huge amount of time.

Am I overdoing it by showing all ten soccer fields (football pitches)?

Imho: Not at all. Details make osm special.

+1

But it seems you are using the wrong projection, the fields come out non-rectangular. You should switch to Mercator projection: Edit -> Preferences -> (3rd tab from top) -> Projection method

Oh, sheesh, you're right. I fuss with that all the time in my GIS software but didn't think about it in JOSM for some reason. Duh.
