Request for help on audio mapping

Sett inn af dcp 24. apríl 2009 á English.

I have bought a MP3 player with a recording function.
Creative ZEN has a time stamp so it should work.
Using my tracker (Garmin GPSmap 65CSx) I tracked part of the local park and used the ZEN to make verbal notes.
Everything seemed to be going well.
The audio recording (*.wav) was played back using 4 different standard programs
(RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, Nero Media Player, and QuickTime Player.
The playback was OK.
However, when using JOSM (after the track was loaded and the OSM data downloaded)
I loaded the *.wav file and the little speech icons were distributed along the recorded track as expected.

However, when I tried to open the *.wav I received the following message in German
"Aus der Eingabedatei konnten keine Audiodaten gelesen werden"
my translation
"No audio data could be read from the input file"
Has anyone any idea what I am doing wrong!!!

JOSM (actually, Java's built-in audio facilities) doesn't recognise every variety of WAV file encodings. If you need to (JOSM will tell you), convert your recording to a suitable format using e.g. Audacity. 8,000 16-bit samples per second is a reasonable format.
