Got a bit inspired after listing to the podcast, so went out and did some mapping today while doing grocery shopping. Covered the main road into damansara damai.

Doing another trip to Ipoh, MY again .. so on the way up, drove through all the rest areas and plan to trace those in a short while.
Quite a few tracks backlogged in my GPS that needs uploading too ... busy busy busy.
Things I've dabled in the last week or two:
- Did Meru Heights and Taman Meru in Ipoh, Perak. These are from tracks I've contributed to Malsingmaps earlier.
- Slowly starting on the ring roads around Ipoh, Perak.
- Tracked the NS highway from KL - Ipoh - Butterworth. My KL-Ipoh tracks are of much better quality as I was patient enough to drive slowly on the slower lanes and got good separation between the dual-carriageways. When it came time to drive to Butterworth though, it was a national holiday and the really slow drivers all came out ...
- went a bit overboard with SS1, PJ. Interestingly, can't seem to find where Jalan SS1/42 is. There's SS1/41 ... and SS1/43 ... but no idea where SS1/42 is.
- Did Seksyen 51A, PJ ... was visiting the area on quite a few days as my car was in the workshop there. The older road signs here are labelled "Jalan 22x", whereas the newer signs are labeled "Jalan 51A/22x". Am going to standardize on the newer format.
- Started on SS2, PJ though I wish i'd started on SS3 first ... looks smaller.
- A few main roads in Seksyen 14, PJ.
- Desa Sri Hartamas, where my office address is.
- Major roads cutting across Damansara Heights.
- Pusat Bandar Damansara.
- SPRINT highway. Having fun with the interchange of damansara-link and kerinchi-link.
- Went to the market at Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
I've mostly focused on the major roads, I may zoom into the smaller residential roads later, or hopefully someone else will fill these in.
Have had my GPS for over a year now and have been regularly contributing to http://www.malsingmaps.com.
I've now decided to contribute all my tracks to OSM as well, and have just started by digitizing the area where I live, which is currently all blank.
First I have to figure out how to layer flyovers properly. And still no clue about road directions ...
