Green River, Wyoming, USA

This is my 1st entery. Over the last 2 days, I’ve aligned and fixed all streets in Green River Wyoming to Satellite imagery. Also, I’ve fixed and adjusted some of the Railroad tracks to current Railroad lines in the area.

I’ve changed many of the road types that didn’t truly match the current condition within the local area. There were many ‘Residential Roads’ that are really 2-tracks. I’ve also added the Green River Trails system, and the outline of the River that goes thru town.

Also, after a trip to Hams Fork Campground in Bridger National Forest last year I updated the roads in that area as well.

Welcome to OSM, looks great. I’ve stopped for lunch in Green River and I’m glad that in the future I will be able to use OSM with confidence when I am there.

I minor recommendation–try to connect foot/cycle ways to nearby and crossing roadways with a common node. This will allow a routing program to provide directions across those different ways.

Why does TIGER make Wyoming look like it has a ton of roads everywhere?! That’s not true; Wyoming is still the “wild west” and shouldn’t have that many roads displayed. You should go through and change these to tracks, (unpaved roads) as that is what they really are. Also add some ref tags to I-80 (like this: ref=I 80) so that it will display on the map.

@jumbanho - I will change them tomorrow.

@compdude - read my Diary post for today. Where is I-80 not showing up. It shows up on all the maps that I’ve seen. Why would a ref tag change this.
