Provence and Dingle Way updates 2019

Zapsal fraq42 12. 9. 2019 v jazyce English.

Provence - Caseneuve near Apt

Spending 2 weeks with my wife in the Provence in April/May , heavily using OSM on my Smartphone. As usual, when preparing for a trip, I do a review of the region I will visit via Bing. Adding houses, tracks, roads etc. but also taking notes on the places we visited.

Dingle Peninsula in Southwest Ireland

Walking the Dingle Way in June. As usual, when preparing for a trip, I do a review of the region I will visit via Bing. Adding houses, tracks, roads etc. but also taking notes on the places we visited. Really appreciating the joint effort of the OSM community that created this great maps. Helpful when walking in fog and rain around the Brandon peak.

What apps were you using when you were here?

Hi, I am only using “View Ranger” during my walks. I am downloading routes/tracks in preparation of my walking week to my Smartphone or I am creating routes on the View Ranger Website and sync them to my Smartphone. During the preparation I am also using JOSM to check the OSM data near the routes/tracks and add updates if necessary. I am also interested in prehistoric sites, so I add POIs in View Ranger, along with the houses I am staying in, super markets, pubs etc. During the walks I do not do any OSM updates, but afterwards I add OSM data I collect during the walk. I do this with JOSM.

I hope this answers your questions. Feel free to talk. Regards fraq42
