132657232 | over 2 år siden | Hi orthocircular. Thanks for the comment! I generally use street centerlines from county gvmt and parcels from County Property Appraiser for street names when centerlines are not available. Prefer Bing, but Maxar as backup. Also use address points from the county governments - same stuff that goes into OpenAddresses. Lake County FL https://geohub-lcgis.opendata.arcgis.com/ I also use Sentinel satellite imagery to see how far along road building is when aerials are not as up to date. Low res (10-meter), but can easily pick new roads and even see houses - imagery can be less than a month old, depending time of year / cloudiness. Easy to access with a link like this: https://apps.sentinel-hub.com/eo-browser/?zoom=16&lat=28.54174&lng=-81.68274&themeId=DEFAULT-THEME&visualizationUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fservices.sentinel-hub.com%2Fogc%2Fwms%2Fbd86bcc0-f318-402b-a145-015f85b9427e&datasetId=S2L2A&fromTime=2023-02-07T00%3A00%3A00.000Z&toTime=2023-02-07T23%3A59%3A59.999Z&layerId=2_FALSE_COLOR&demSource3D=%22MAPZEN%22 |
127305176 | over 2 år siden | Hello, correcting a name does not include abbreviating it. OSM requires fully spelled out road names, e.g. North Rye Road vs N Rye Rd |
116358557 | over 3 år siden | Hi djerm. The fairways you added in this area were incredibly poor digitizing / borderline fantasy mapping - crossing way into residential areas, etc. I saw another spot where you did the same thing. What's going on here? |
116170150 | over 3 år siden | Cool - I updated the names. I use Collier PA and Collier GIS to check and add names in Collier County. For others listening - Property Appraisers and GIS departments across FL should be the goto source for street names vs TIGER, even if TIGER is "updated" - a lot of legacy crap remains in TIGER. |
115899269 | over 3 år siden | Did VisiGround remove real highways or fake highways? Another weird behavior of the fantasy mapping accounts in this area is they will add fake features, and then delete it! And then add some real features and fake features. Its almost like they are trying to throw up some kind of smokescreen to throw people off reviewing their accounts. Just odd behavior, but bottom line is you can't trust any of their edits, although they do appear to add legit stuff here and there - that is what is weird about it - like they are playing some kind of game with OSM. |
115817061 | over 3 år siden | What's up CoastalGenius! This is another one of your smoking gun edits. Another account that is probably yours Narnian Peter made some interesting edits on this road - 1st you changed the road name to 6th Ave N, then in a separate edit, you changed it back to Port Ave. Then another account that is probably yours named VisiGround changed it back to 6th Ave N. Where's the documentation to support this road is named 6th Ave N? This is one example of the edits done by these fantasy mapper accounts in this area - changing road names to fake names - but also introducing false flag edits. Nice! |
115898854 | over 3 år siden | Pretty sure VisiGround is not new to OSM - just another account that participates in fantasy mapping in this area, aka CoastalGenius and others. This time around they appear to add legit features and sprinkle in fantasy edits. They've been called out multiple times before, blocked by DWG, etc. IMHO whenever you do any fantasy edits, you just can't be trusted anymore and should be banned. Been going on for a few years now. |
105642299 | omkring 4 år siden | WTF Bro - Everything you added is fantasy. Why? Just to be a pain in the ass? What's up CoastalGenius! |
98719497 | over 4 år siden | This changeset and all of your other ones have fantasy mapping written all over it. You wouldn't happen to know a user named CoastalGenius would you? |
86219021 | over 4 år siden | Why are these all tagged as service roads? I'm cleaning some up, but these are obviously minimally new residential roads. |
92091187 | over 4 år siden | Hello, thanks for contributing roads for this new subdivision in Florida. These roads should be classified as residential vs service, since the roads were built to serve houses which will soon be built here. |
85001909 | omkring 5 år siden | Thanks for adding the new roads - FYI these are new residential roads, not service. I have corrected the issue. |
61784219 | omkring 5 år siden | I think it has to do with iD showing you there is a large hydro polygon that has not been completely downloaded. As you move around, more of the polygon gets loaded and the line changes position. After you completely load the closed polygon, it should go away. In this area, there may be a very large polygon involved, so it may never totally go away. JOSM shows a similar "ghost line" as well. In JOSM you have the ability to load a complete geometry, which should make it go away. So bottom line, I don't think it has anything to do with something I've edited, rather the way the editors are showing large incomplete polygons. |
61784219 | omkring 5 år siden | Hi JDD 3 - I took a quick look around the area of this changeset via JOSM, iD and KeepRight and not seeing anything unusual. Not sure what you mean - further explain? |
84271894 | omkring 5 år siden | I changed your edit of motorway to primary back to motorway. That stretch of highway has been motorway for 7 years. Lots of people have reviewed that section of road and left it as is. |
84115630 | over 5 år siden | Hi john2660, why did you tag single family houses as offices? |
84021207 | over 5 år siden | Hi olgaderasmo, welcome to OSM! Its great that you added building footprints. My main comments / critique is the geometry can be aligned to the aerial better, don't include a changeset comment hashtag as the building name, and please add the building address info if you know it. In the OSM editor Id - with a building outline selected, the q button will straighten edges of of polygon to make it more square and help with aligning geometry. |
84021346 | over 5 år siden | Hi JamesBarrus - your OSM edit looks good to me. Always add addresses to buildings if you can. Commercial and retail buildings sometimes have multiple addresses and you can add a building outline and add points for the businesses inside the building with separate names, types, addresses, etc. Same for multi-family residential, although unit numbers aren't as important. Building names or identifiers are important in that case. In other cases like a school or hospital, address and other info can be added to a an area polygon that defines the school grounds for instance. Thanks. |
84227171 | over 5 år siden | Hi Ltmapper - this is great info you are adding to OSM. Also adding complete info with addresses, phone numbers, website, etc is very helpful. You may want to try adding building outlines as well if you see a building but its not on the map. The business points of interest can go inside the building outline. Thanks! |
